Heh. Love to, but the only way I'll be able to go is if someone else buys it for me as a gift LOL.

Looking forward to hearing from people who do attend though. Man, I'd love to pick the brains of those guys.

If you get on to Brian Kurtz's list, he will send interviews he has done
and at the end of them he encourages people to make contact.

I did today in a way that may help him.

Just as I've done with Gary Bencivenga, Drayton Bird,
Clayton Makepeace and Carline Anglade Cole.

Although I gotta admit it was more take than give with the last two..

      Lesson learnt.

      Brians website is briankurtz.me.

Google his name along with interviews and you'll see one with Joe Polish
along with a search on Youtube.

      Best,
      Ewen.

Angie, remember me telling you Brian Kurtz encourages you to reply
to his emails and said I did..?
well just got a well thought out reply.

He's going to get Renker to talk about the subject I brought up
and he's going to write a book about it.

So start the conversation, you don't know where it lead to.

      Best,
      Ewen.

Alex, no doubt if done wrong... it could backfire and leave a bad taste in peoples' mouths.

But in this case, I think it was pretty tastefully done as a tribute and celebration... but sure, one that's based on profit.

Heck, you could get these guys in a room and not even mention Marty's death and you'd get people buying.

But I do think there's a fine line when death is involved... in this case I think the tribute/honor/celebration isn't horrible.

But, that's just my opinion. I've seen a few emails or sales letters that made me
cringe because you could just FEEL it wasn't right or the timing was bad or the profit motive was just front and center.

Comics have it made. They can talk about death, get a crowd to groan in unison... then get a mulligan with a simple, "Too soon."

I was personally surprised by the positioning. He had other options.

Yes, it can be unseemly. Trying to get money off of death is generally an abhorrent practice in my opinion.

in most cases I would agree with you.

however, Brian is a trusted guy. I don't think this event would of happened without that reason being true. I think.

      I would love to go.

that room is gonna be filled with a lot of ballers.

      great networking opportunity

Heh...I'm a classic example of "doesn't read all the words".

I skimmed and apparently missed the commemoration bit and have been wondering what all the hullabaloo was about.

Heh. That reminds me, I signed up for his list but never got the confirmation. Guess something must be wonky with the system. Checked spam too - no dice.
