Please Review My CB Affiliate Page

Hello All,

I realize this is my first post here, but I've been lurking for a while and I've got the itch to try out some IM after a LONG hiatus.

A little bit of background before I get the new new venture. My father and I had quite a bit of success as internet gaming affiliates from 1998 to 2004. But as the market grew more competitive, my father decided it best to focus on his offline business and let the affiliate business whither. The Kyl Bill didn't help matters.

Now I'd like to get back into IM and have put together my first foray.

In our previous efforts we found list building to be a successful technique and I think it's going to be a big part of my new strategy because it seems so profitable.

Right now I'm just trying to get moving, and therefore promoting some CB products as an affiliate. I'm also working on two eBooks (one for sale and one bonus) for this niche that I will either replace this site with or run in parallel depending on how well this site does.

Thanks in Advance
James

Overall I think it gets the job done but IMHO it could use just a bit of tweaking. The white horizontal bar on top is quite distracting. The yellow text on the header is sort of hard to read. The text in the email box is a little funky. I also think some of the color scheme maybe isn't the most attractive.

    Hope this helps,

    Rich

Thanks Rich, I was wondering about the bright green further down, I think I'm going to change that to the scheme that I use for the first 2 ads. I'm wondering if I should get rid of the background image behind the yellow title text and then put it in a dark green of some sort on the white background.

    Hi James

I am not familiar with this market, so I'm going to take your word that people want this. First off, get rid of the green. Put your "join my newsletter" down a little, get the prospect to disire what you have first.

Your headline, take out "do it yourself". Saving money is the benefit, not doing it yourself. When in doubt for a headline, use "How To".

    Here is an example.

Want to save on your energy bills?...

    "How To Power Your Home
    With The Wind And Sun
    And Save Thousands"

    Dear friend,

With energy prices going up, and home budgets going down, every one is looking for ways to save money. DYI energy is the way that will save you thousands of dollars.

Earth 4 energy shows you how to build wind turbine and solar panels at home. You save thousands of dollars and it is easy to do. You can do this at home yourself for under $200, and you will be saving money the next day. Etc... Etc..

James, I hope that helps you out.

    Take care.

Don't promote competing Amazon books when you want to
sell an ebook for a lot more money.

A salesletter should have ONE OBJECTIVE, sell one thing
    at a time.

I guess your approach is like a review site... except you
haven't reviewed any of the products you recommend.

I expect this page to be ineffective; A money-loser
    for sure with pay-per-click traffic.

Look at the review sites written by other people in this
niche - I've seen hobbiest sites about alternative energy
stuffed with content and tips... what can you offer
to inspire people to want to bookmark your site and
    buy from you?

I agree with Bills comment on headline (saving money is bigger incentive) and Lorens comment on the mixed goals and need for something less sales-ish.

My other comment is the main pic should not be hyrdo lines. It should be a wind generator and solar cell. I thought it was a report on how hydro lines are bad for your health. Fix the branding a bit more.

I have no agenda but to help those in the same situation. This I feel will pay the bills.

Btw, as someone that would buy these products, my curiousity would be, just how long and how much does it take to build this stuff. For example, how about a video of you following the actual ebook with a tally of costs in $ as well as time. I have many family members interested in this as well (again because their power bills are SO INSANELY high).

James to me your page looks like little more than a stripped down landing page.

Agree with others that there's too many links to too many things. Your opt-in box to "join our Newsletter" imo is nowhere near strong enough to capture many subscribers. I would try offering a free guide to saving $ on energy or something for subscribing.

Video, as already mentioned, could help as well.
