Ultimately i started awesome opt in page

I turned my previous web page to opt in page for email marketing. Please share your views about the page: Freelance Online - Shantanu Mukherjee . Apart from this i ordered 1361 social bookmarking & 55000 tier 2 blog comments. How much traffic should arrive and in how many days? Any idea about the emails i am going to get! Please suggest....

It's basically a landing page and it seems good. BTW i depends on to whom you've ordered social bookmarking and blog comments and how much time they normally take to complete orders.

    Hi Shantanu,

It's certainly very inventive and imaginative. But unfortunately, those aren't always ideal things for a squeeze page. There's really too much going on, there. It's too "busy". A squeeze page should be very clean and very simple and have absolutely nothing distracting from the opt-in at all. You can test it, of course (and you should!) but I think you'll find that something really "plain and simple" is going to convert significantly better than that page.

It won't load well, or easily, on some of the tablets/iphones/other toys with which people unaccountably like to use the web, these days.

You probably don't need to collect people's names, just their email addresses? You'll probably get more people opting in to it, if you have only one box for them to fill in, rather than two. If you were intending actually to use their names in your outgoing emails, this thread may help you: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post8335017 And this one: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post7934937

Well done for getting a squeeze page up and starting to build your own list.

That depends on your traffic-generation plan.

What you've outlined above is an SEO plan (and rather a questionable one), not a traffic-generation plan.

Thanks for your inputs! I have ordered it from one of the top rated seller in Fiverr. I didn't ordered a traffic gig because most of the traffic gigs in Fiverr are crap. So that's why i chose these two services because earlier i use to get traffic from Social bookmarking and read that these two methods are amongst the top methods of getting targeted traffic!!!

Hey man! The text is sorta hard to read. The design looks cool but 'freelancing' is kind of blurry in the background.

Also, those fiverr gigs don't really work for traffic. That many backlinks and social shares will just alert Googles spam filters.

Humm....but i did it to get targeted traffic and so can build a list of at least 100 subscribers.

Because the forum authorities have decided that requests for reviews of squeeze pages shall live henceforward in the Copywriting Forum.

I don't know whether they actually used the word "henceforward", of course: I might have made up that part myself.

It probably wasn't a completely clearcut decision, I imagine, but it's clearly not unreasonable: copywriters do often write squeeze pages; some are familiar with squeeze page split-testing results; when these are left in the Main Marketing Forum they can come across as a bit spammy and many of the replies there tend to come from people who have very little idea of what they're talking about and are just commenting on whether it "looks nice", which helps nobody.

      Since you ask.

Yet it's got nothing to do with copywriting and the OP is unlikely to get the desired response on here. There is a CRO forum nowadays, that would seem a more intuitive place to put it.

I think the new owners need to read the stickies...

That's what I was thinking...it really belongs in the traffic forum or the conversion optimization forum.

But since it's here....the page really has no copywriting, and it needs it.

What does the ebook teach you about freelancing?

Freelancing as what? A copywriter? Web programmer? Designer?

Freelancing as an English style butler who specializes in narrating your every action during your next trip to Europe?

If it's just about freelancing in general and written for anyone who freelances, you're going to get low conversions. You'd get a HIGHER response if you're specific about who it's for, what it shows them how to do and why they need this guide as opposed to simply reading blogs on the topic.

I'd also be surprised if those moving parts were good for your conversions. Yes, it looks nice, but there's a world of difference between advertising that looks good and advertising that makes money.

Test your current control against a version with static images. I bet the conversions will be better.

Well, I don't quite agree with this statement.

Many copywriters write squeeze pages. Some of the regular posters in this part of the forum are even advertising in their signature-files that they write squeeze pages.

In this case, there was perhaps nowhere in the forum where he was going to get the desired response, because his squeeze page is just so bad. But that is what he needed to be told, and that was actually much more likely to happen here than in any other part of the forum.

Yes, perhaps so. Very good point, there.

Well, to read them and/or to change them, which is their right, of course, having paid $3 mil+ for the forum. Anyway, the way to bring that to their attention, if you really want to, is to post here: Suggestion Forum

If a squeeze page doesn't really have copy on it, perhaps it can go in the CRO forums hencefoward... since freelancer was wise enough to add one. Great choice.

    At least there's that...

    Yes why is this here?

I suppose it could be argued he needs help with his English - "within few moments"..."Just fill up the form!".

But as I've said before...is this what you want here? Endless posts of "How does my website/squeeze page look?"

We're coming up on 800K members (and something "huge" in 5 days)... it is what it is.

Regardless, this little section of WF is VERY quiet and easy enough to find the threads of interest.

Let 'em post and ignore those you don't feel warrant a response (such as this one).

They're not posting here, though, are they. The new mods are moving the threads here, thinking that this is the right forum...

        Which is distinctly odd.

It's less odd if you substitute the words "having been instructed that" for "thinking that".

It doesn't stop there. Any old thing is being lumbered here. Here's the latest -
Have You Ran A Successful Direct Response Advertising Campaing...

As for "It is what it is" - one of my pet hates that stupid meaningless, hackneyed phrase. What it is... is that the site isn't being moderated properly. There - I've said it.

I think the new mods have been instructed to spread things around a bit.

There is a thread about copywrting on the main IM forum right now. With the word copywriting in the post title. 15 replies last time I looked. That wouldn't have been allowed before the buyout.

On the other hand I've had 2 posts moved in the last month for highly debatable infractions. I think decisions are being been made to lead WF in a certain direction. Down the pan in my view.
