Free Copywriting Checklist Worth its Weight in Gold....

I just stumbled upon this gem by Kelvin Parker... it's a free 53 page
copywriting checklist called...

714 Ways Pro Copywriters can Boost Response and Make Millions...
and it's a killer checklist.

I'd have to say... Rick Duris has this one beat... with his incredible
post on his blog about copywriting formulas.

But this one is WELL worth the time to download... believe me,
it's good...

One of the easiest transformations I ever undertook as a copywriter was reading that quote every day.

I like this. I've missed a list like this: even though I know most of what's written there, having it listed in front of me instead of buried inside paragraphs is a great reminder. Especially considering what I'm working on right now

  • Shawn,

A trip down memory lane for me because I got this when Kelvin first published it back in 2005.

At the time I thought "Wow this IS good"

    And it still is.

Kelvin and I go way back.

I just checked in with him this morning. He told me: "yeah, that's strange - i switched from Infusionsoft to Ontraport last week, then all of a sudden I'm geting a DELUGE of report downloads, and I have no idea why".

He thought they were spam. I told him why. He was happy.

Haha ... cool to see some downloads of the checklist.

I've always loved putting together comprehensive checklists.

Maybe I should consider sharing some of my other checklists - such as "Neuroscience Applied to Marketing" or "Digital Ad Campaign Strategies" or "The Marketing Entrepreneur Model" ...

Rick - let's put our heads together and create something awesome :-)

Good Lord... I think my mind exploded with the thought of you two (Rick and Kelvin) putting out something together.

You both may just have the 2 most valuable copy checklists I've ever seen in my 14 years online... and anyone in the biz who doesn't think those 2 checklists aren't THAT valuable shouldn't be in the biz....

You're being kind, Shawn. Thank you.

There's a 230-question questionnaire from Jay Abraham that every business owner should go through once a year. It's like a Business Strategy Self Audit.

Get your hands on that, if you can.

Rick, just being honest. I've seen thousands of products that people charge money for that weren't as valuable as your free post.

Seth... thanks for that link... I haven't seen that from Jay.

I bought Jay's Stealth marketing book back in 2006 or so... called the "Blue book" because it was just a thick book with a blue paper cover.

Paid $1,000 for that puppy and it was one of the best investments I've made.

So thanks guys, for that suggestion and link... gonna check it out now.

Thanks, Shawn. I'm gonna share a secret. It'll sound rather selfish when I do.

In the vast, vast majority, I was not building the blog out for others. I was building it out for myself.

In other words, I'm not trying to show off. What I'm trying to do is build an archive of ideas that will jump start my brain when I need it. And your brain too, if you need it.

If you get value out of it, it makes me feel good. So thanks.

But honestly, I don't have the time to build out the essays like other blogs. I'm more of a get-to-the-point kinda guy.

That may change over time, depending on the feedback I get.

And with the limited posts I have, the blog seems like it makes a difference. The Alexa ranking hovers around 220,000. I get about 100 real people a day to the site. That's pretty good, especially with the limited number of posts.

You guys already know I don't put out BS. It's stuff real marketers and copywriters can use. I plan on linking to cool stuff I find as well as producing one strong piece of actionable intel you can use every week.

              Here's a shameless plug:

I've just started a FB fan page https://www.facebook.com/thecopyranger. Go ahead and "like" it and stay up-to-date if you want.

Here's a tidbit of advice I got if you want to get my posts on your FB newsfeed regularly. Go ahead and interact with me on that page. Interact with others on that page. Like stuff regularly.

It'll tell FB you want more of what we've got there.

And honestly? Feel free to post stuff there yourself. If it gets too spammy, I'm sure I'll do something about it. But for now, what I want to is create a really cool stream of actionable information marketers and copywriters really appreciate. You guys produce som GREAT content yourselves.

In other words, it'll be like WF without all the BS rules.

So if you have self-serving blog posts, as long as they are good, I say go for it.

I'm glad you guys appreciate the blog. Thanks, again.

              - Rick Duris

PS: People who go to the page and "like" it? You become a full fledged CopyRangers. What can be better than that?

PSS: And if want to do a guest post, feel free to ask.
