Anyone got a short sales letter formula?

Right now I've started writing a sales letter for a new product that I will be selling soon.

The only sales letter formula I've ever used is one of Eben Pagan's super long formulas, the ones where the finished sales letter is 30 to 40 pages of text long if you follow it completely. However, I think this product would sell better with a shorter sales letter.

I've seen plenty of amazing shorter sales letter (1 to 5 pages) before and was wondering if anyone has a proven formula for one of these shorter letters?

I realize I could just try to shorten the longer version myself by putting in less content, but I don't think it would be as effective.

The length should be determined by what level of
awareness of the subject and the seller.

The less awareness they have, then you've got
yourself more work to fill in their knowledge gaps.

You can shorten your message by talking to only
those who already know the benefits of the types
of products and services your market offers.

Also talking to those who have already decided to buy,
but not from who. Now this gives you the opportunity
to actually help them make the right buying decisions.

Carlton's infamously ripped-off formula might work for you:

I agree with one of the dudes above about John Carlton. That man can write some killer copy & same with Dan Kennedy or Gary Halbert. All are bad ass!

We use David Frey's Foolproof Sales Letter Formula, it goes like the following:
    1. Capture attention
    2. Identify big problem
    3. give the solution to their problem
    4. present credential
    5. show benefits of your solution
    6. Identify social proof that works
    7. Give compelling offer
    8. Inject Scarcity to prompt actions. -Why do they need to act now?
    9. Identify how to minimize risk.
    10. create a call-to-action for the next act
    11. close to remind the benefits.

ther's no shortcut and we really need to work hard for this. Sometimes you can experiment but better to make it on internal side.
    Hope I help.
