So, basically I know that on eBay you need to pay eBay and paypal fees. What about Amazon? I know that their fees are like 15% from selling price. Are there any other fees? What's their paying method? Does it charges anything? Any help will be appreciated. THX

I believe amazon is the second best platform right after your own ecommerce website

I definately disagree with this statement for the simple fact that Amazon will always have far more buyer traffic than your own site.

The minor fees that Amazon charges for their FBA program are very well worth the price. Getting storage, packaging, low priced shipping, customer service all taken care of by them is a great deal.

Ask youself this - would you rather sell 10 units at 100% retail from your site or sell 50 units at 85% of retail? Do the math. This is a simple question IMO.

  • As far as I know, there are different selling accounts you can have on Amazon. A Merchant account is (I believe) free to operate, where as a Professional selling account is about $39/mo. There are certain benefits to operating a Professional selling account on Amazon, like the option to offer free shipping to customers.

If you fulfill through FBA, there are additional costs as well that go in to storing your items and shipping them.

Do you currently sell on Amazon? I would post this question on their forums, so you can hear directly from Amazon sellers. I work for a third-party inventory management tool, so I can only offer information based on what I've learned of the market, not what I have experienced personally as a seller.
