Does anyone know which platforms these sites use?
Lightinthebox(dot)com
Deals machine(dot)com

I am looking for the same design with review of products etc... Also needs full compatibility with Canada post parcel services.

Thank you in advance.

According to BuiltWith Technology Lookup The lightinabox is Zen Cart and Deals machine(dot)com is PHP and Jquery.

  • Aside from Zencart, Shopify, Volusion, Magento Community, Bigcommerce, 3dCart and Opencart are other storefront options. Some are better for non-techies - Shopify has built-in themes you can chose from and easily customize, where as others (like Magento Community) require more back-end development knowledge to create your own site.

I work for a 3P inventory management software, and we currently integrate with Zencart, Shopify, Bigcommerce, Magento and 3dcart. Our customers have been happy with these platforms, and we trust these website providers.

It is always interesting to look behind the curtain. This article has several different look-up sites How to Find CMS, Platform or Technology used by a Website

As for the other part of your question regarding Canadian Post, these sites could be replicated in Wordpress using WooCommerce. WooCommerce has a plugin for Canada Post for $79.

With a little tweaking and adding a top menu you can build a Wordpress site a lot faster and for much less money than hand coding PHP.

    Just some thoughts,

Thank you all for your input,

I think I am going to give OpenCart a shot in the early phases of this venture.

It seems to have alot of templates for extremely reasonable prices, and alot of extensions to accomplish a custom feel.

Starting out, it just doesn't seem feasible to invest in a platform such as shopify... although there starter plan caught my attention.

Having knowledge and confidence of HTML, Databases, SEO, etc in the past this e-commerce stuff looks alot more complicated than it should be.

Currently awaiting my company logo and then diving in, any other suggestions are greatly appreciated.

      Thanks again!
