Alibaba - Singapore Post WTF!?

I've been waiting on a sample from ali baba. And of course once I get the sample I am going to have to wait again as I place a real order.

Anyway its been about 25 days since I placed my order and the vendor gave me a tracking code.

Tracking code of course is useless as says: "Despatched to overseas (Country code: CA)" -- Canada

Anyway I noticed he shipped via Singapore post rather than EMS. Upon checking there site for delivery times I am seeing a 6-8 week estimated delivery time (business days!) to virtually all North American countries and even longer for other countries.

Singpost - Delivery Time

I am just wondering is EMS a much better option? Because by the time my next order comes it will 2015 and this is ridiculous.

Thanks

EMS is faster. Singapore Little Goods Mail is extremely slow, but its also extremely cheap. I can ship a 6 oz item from China to the U.S. for less than the cost of something the same weight domestically in the U.S.

Its been a while since I used it, but I believe what they do is ship to Singapore, which all then goes into shipping containers, then shipped to the U.S. by sea.

If price is a big concern, ask for Hong Kong Post which takes slightly less time or EMS which costs a bit more, if you want it faster, ask for Fedex.

    Hey there,

Are you located in Canada? If so nice to see a fellow Canadian here,

Yes it is definately worth the $20 or so to ship DHL or EMS. Especially if your talking about a couple hundred or more order.

DHL is best in my opinion. Arrives in 2-5 Business days, 90% of the time.

DHL charges $27 Duty/taxes most of the time as well, which isn't so bad for the express route through customs .

If you have any other questions feel free to send me a pm.

    Good luck!

Edit: I waited 35 days for a shipment china post air... The entire shipment was $24 so I chose not to pay the $20 dhl as it didn't seem feasible. It did arrive though. If the seller shipped a different method than agreed, you could contact alibaba for a partial refund I would think.

Happened to me once, drove me nuts! I always ask about shipping methods now. FedEx or DHL is usually only a few bucks more for small orders, like samples.
