protections against faulty batch of product?

When ordering from alibaba, are there protections against getting a faulty batch of product? Let's say hypothetical you order 3000 pairs of hiking pants and something happens with the order and they all arrive badly frayed or with some other major flaw. Any kind of protection against this? Tks

    There are a few ways you can protect yourself.

    I am actually in China right now at a factory inspecting an order of merchandise before it gets loaded in a container bound for my warehouse in the US. That is the best way but its not always possible especially for a small order.

    There are 3rd party agents that will do a merchandise inspection for about $300-$500.However you have to pick a trustworthy agent.

    Google "Letter of Credit". Its a way to use your bank to hold payment until you receive the goods as described.
