Shipping from China to USA, and delivery to the door

So I was looking at a leather couch on AliExpress and obviously that can't be shipped by China Post or FedEx or something like that. It has to be bundled in a container and unloaded on the dock.

So what is the process of getting it to my door from the dock? I don't understand the Customs process and freight forwarding gig. Can someone explain?

    All the shippers have a "to the door" option. You just have to pay more!
    P.S. I don't recommend DHL...they have screwed up 2 of the 2 times I used them!

    Be aware of customs/fees, you will want to negotiate this before signing a PO as the factories may pass this cost on to you. Most will provide you with a shipping terms as long with the usual payment terms.
