  • Full disclosure - I work for a 3P inventory management software and am not an online seller. However, I think most will advise you to first do you research on what you want to sell. Pick something you already know about/have an interest in. Make sure it's more niche and not to broad. You can always expand your product line after you've gained a following, but I think some retailers are too broad at first and have a hard time really nailing down a consistent buyer market.

There are a couple of ecommerce blogs you could check out. I know of one called Ecommerce Fuel that's written by a guy who bootstrapped his ecommerce business into a big success. I'm sure some other warriors will chime in with more tips and advice.

Good luck, and keep us posted as to how you're doing.

Before you start setting up an online store, consider the option of selling affiliated products. You will need to tie up with a shipping service. You also need to keep in mind the things that brings customer Online to Shop. There are many such things like this which you need to be kept in your mind.

Good Luck for your online business!

I'm not sure what type of products you'll be selling but rest assured that almost every product catagory has hot or trending products.Do a little research and find out what products are selling the best in your catagory then setup a page dedicated to those products alone. As always use good Meta titles and descriptions.

I tried ecommerce as a little sideline during my university studies - let me tell you that to make a success of your venture, you've got to be fully invested (financially, mentally and time-wise).

Ecommerce is a hugely competitive industry, no matter what niche you're planning to cater for. Plan carefully and prepare to work long and hard to see your vision through to fruition. And, like I always say, choose your CMS carefully to allow for steady growth long into the future!

All the conditions such as financially strong, technically strong knowledge and so on are important in ecommerce business... Note that these strategies are more complicated when you try to start this business.

Relax! Don't worry according to my point of view, these strategies can be easily overcome by the simple words of choosing a best custom ecommerce solutions, custom solutions are standalone, independent to anything, no need of any special coding knowledge to build a website and very less investment..
