Ebay and Dropshipping - still working?

I've heard a lot that they hold money for up to 21 days and such things which would mean the supplier couldn't be paid and that would make the whole concept useless.

Is it still possible to start with dropshipping on Ebay without own investment?

    Hello Azamat,

Dropshipping is the way to go if you do not want to have that much of an investment. However, all types of business always call for some sort of investment - time, effort, and money.

With eBay, it's always possible and the 21 day ruling only applies if you break one or more of their rules in negotiation. You can always visit eBay for more questions about this policy.

The 21 day hold IS a big factor getting in the way of new start up dropshippers.

I have heard stories of sellers who have demonstrated excellent quality who still had the 21 day hold in place even after a year.

If you use tracking information and the item arrives at their destination, in theory you should receive the funds within 5 days from that point. However, it is just a theory. In reality, PayPal will hold you funds for 21 days because it gets a ton of money by using it for credit.

Ugh, right? They collect a good amount of interest off that hold, I'm sure. I believe they do the same thing when you transfer money to your bank account, hence the 3-5 day wait period.

Just upload tracking and you'll get your money back fast enough.

Another thing to consider: if you drop ship on ebay and are in the 21 day hold, and have a good $avings to fall back on then you'll be fine. That way you can jump right in to dropping well-priced products with high selling potential, but if you have no savings and jump right into drop shipping you may be spending a good amount of money before you gain, especially if you don't understand ebay/ paypal fees. If you're clever though, and are willing to invest in Amazon Prime, you can make it work. Prime does not support drop shipping of low-cost items, so you may have to use yourself as a re-shipping channel for a little while.

I invested about 3 months of posting and waiting before mine began to pay off, and I didn't have a paypal hold due to past experiences as a seller. My issue was the selling cap, but if you're a smooth talker you can find someone from ebay to work with you.

When you say upload tracking number, does Ebay provide it to you? or you'll need to get it from your supplier (Amazon)? I am new to Amazon to ebay dropshipping so I wanted to know this thing. Please advise. Thanks!

Hi, I didn't see an introduction thread, so this is my first post. Hope you don't mind if I jump right in...

I questioned whether drop shipping was still good myself, with the answer being if you have the time and patience, and are past "paypal" jail, then yes it is. I think it's better to have more than one income avenue streaming tho, so you aren't wholly dependent on ebay. From my experience, unless you have a good listing availability (or no limits at all), you will be stifled and will need to find a good niche to get you out.

Ebay's still very good tho. It has pulling power that may even rival Amazon from time to time. I stick with it, but plan on building my own dropship website and navigating flow there in order to avoid ebay fees.

The 21 day hold is merely to make sure youvare trust worthy..if you upload tracking, it will only be 7 days hold

Yes if you run the label through ebay, the tracking is automatically added

If you purchase the shipping elsewhere, you just go to the product and click add tracking number

Man! I got all excited about DS using Amazon thru eBay. I got my first "Big Sale" yesterday, got the payment via PayPal, went to Amazon to buy item and BAM! No money available... So, in order to fulfill the order I use $$ out of my pocket. THEN I get to looking at the fees from PPal and eBay! Sheesh I only made about $3 on my "Big Sale!" Thought it was gonna be around $6 profit... LOL & Hopefully my first customer won't notice AMAZON all over the place when they open the box.

My plan is, once the payment clears I will then have funds for future items. Any tips from you pros would be VERY appreciated! Thanks in advance.

    Hello guys,

I'm from Philippines and I wanted to do the dropshipping business from Amazon to Ebay. But there are these questions that are bugging me. If you could clarify them for me, it may help me get started.

    Questions:

    - How can you pay for the Amazon product if your buyer on Ebay pays you on Paypal? We know that Amazon don't accept paypal as payment and that Paypal holds your first payment for a certain day (can you tell me how many day it is?). If we will wait for the days until the money will be transferred to your bank account or credit card, it would delay the buyers' product.

Does it mean that you'll have to pull from your own pocket first to pay to Amazon?

    - Is there any work around that the payment you receive from paypal sent directly to your bank account or card?

    - I've learned that I can use Paypal debit card so that there'll be no need to do the transferring when paying on Amazon. Is it true? If so, can I apply for PayPal debit card here in Philippines?

Thank you so much and hope my questions will be addressed clearly and specifically.

Dropshipping is a form of online sales in which the customer pays for the product to you and you then its forward details of the manufacturer of the product, which then the product is delivered directly to the customer. Your income is the difference in price that you paid for the customer and the wholesale price of the product that you pay after selling the manufacturer or wholesalers.

This form of online sales benefit a large number of small businesses, but also those who are trying to make money on the internet working from home. Drop shipping is fantastic because it does not require any major investment. Because of its structure, drop shipping offers many advantages. Please visit: Dropship : Ankaka.com
