Has anyone used any Product sourcing agent?

Hi
I am currently looking for any product sourcing company that can help me find products in China with the required specification and quality. Does anyone knows about any such company with personal experience?

    Check it out on alibaba there is plenty over there you can check out. Personally I prefer to go to the manufacturers directly and then have an inspection done before the goods are shipped. The advantage of a sourcing agent is they call do all of this and they'll be able to negotiate a price for you. However that does come with a cost and managing an additional person. Hope this helps.

      You are likely to get many offers on the forum from people in China wanting to be your sourcing agent. The big problem is how do you know you can trust them? Do they say they only charge you a small commission? Maybe they also get a commission from the supplier. Do they really find you the best deal or do they buy from a relative or someone who gives them the biggest commission? Do they own the business they tell you to buy from?

      Most of the listings of sourcing agents on Alibaba are obsolete. Rates quoted on the site are far from what they now charge. As I pointed out above, you still have the problem of not having any way of knowing if they are reliable and whether using them will result in you paying way too much for the goods.

      Buy direct from the real manufacturers. It is extremely hard to sort them out on the big websites like Alibaba. I teach how to safely source direct from genuine manufacturers and how to be sure you are getting the best price.

    Hello MarketResearchAmazon,

    Your question is not that clear to me. Are you looking for a company to help you purchase parts and components from various parties and deal with all the logistics and management up to delivery to an appointed manufacturer? Or are you looking for an intermediary to help you find finished products in China and liaise with the supplier on your behalf?

    More information about the context of your query would be helpful.

    In regards to "required specifications and quality", this can be tricky. A word of advice, first take the time to issue a product file gathering at least the main specifications and send it to the supplier before you place the order.

        There is no need to use a sourcing agent.

        Sourcing agents add another layer of cost to the price of the goods. For maximum profits, do it yourself - it is easy. Marketing is the hard part of eCommerce. Sourcing is the easy part once you know what to do.

        I have taught hundreds of people in 36 countries how to safely source direct from the manufacturers.

          Sourcing mass market products, without necessarily a huge concern for quality is easy.

          The second you start trying to source something that doesn't have a million Suppliers on Alibaba or sourcing a product that has very rigid requirements, it's not so easy.

            I have hundreds of happy users of my book in 36 countries who will disagree with you. They will agree with me that it is easy even when looking for quality products. I teach how to safely source products whether or not they have rigid requirements. I teach them how to get good quality, and what I teach, works.

            I began importing from China in 1987 and have visited China many times. My importing business was built on quality products, and was so successful that I franchised it in 4 countries, and all my franchisees followed my sourcing methods. You might now appreciate that I know what I am talking about.

            I know you want to sell your services, but sorry ........ those who follow my methods don't need the help of a sourcing agent. They might use the services of a quality inspection service, but that is a different matter.
