I am new to the forums and not quite sure if this is the right place to ask this question. So here it goes. I currently sell on eBay, I am doing good but not near as good as I would like to do. One concern is if I keep selling like I'm selling that it will eventually grow and I won't be able to keep up with all the shipping and therefore, will equate to a bad feedback rating. I have read a lot of good and bad reviews on dropshipping. If this is a good route., Then any suggestions or guidance would be greatly appreciated. I am a member of salehoo.com and so far all the dropshippers leave little to no margins on there products. Please help. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance and God bless.

If the margins are almost non-existent, which is common with dropshipping, you need to buy direct from overseas manufacturers, to massively increase your margins.

You will then be able to afford to use a private fulfillment service and not have to worry about the shipping side of your business.

  • Sounds like you're going through some growing pains...which is good. Means business is fruitful for you. You may want to consider an inventory or sales order software to help you manage your business? Even if you dropship, you'll still be responsible for getting all of your sales order information to the suppliers, which is a time sensitive task. There are software that can automate that process for you, so that its pretty hands off on your end. The software I work for automates all the moving parts of your ecommerce business, but there are a whole variety of tools that could help you as well.

If you chose to go the dropshipping route, I'd recommend checking out Skip McGrath's blog. He is a great resource for sellers who are interested in dropshipping, and has articles that break down the basics and offer tips. Whichever route you go, just make sure you do your research first!

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. You came to the right place!

Once you get to a certain income and sales you will need to outsource some of the tasks like tracking uploads etc. Just keep going if you like what you are doing. There's short and long term value to outsourcing as well.
