Ok... here's the gig...

I won't give my exact idea as to not have it stolen but I will get as close as I can.

I want to be the middleman lets say between a company that makes custom playground equipment for children. The website I want to build requires some sort of platform in which the potential customer can "make their own" product using several pieces of preloaded pieces that can be put together in several different combos... the customer will be able to "build" their custom product right on website... able to pan around image they are building,... add custom colors or graphics to it... ect.

I'm envisioning a drag and drop type platform.

Once customer makes and orders custom piece I then take order and run it through manufacturer who then dropships to customer and I make a fee off of the whole deal.

The purpose here is to shorten the amount of time it takes to create this custom piece and increase buy rate because the customer doesn't have to go through the ringer with said manufacturer over days to get it done.

in effect I want to establish a middleman giving convenience to customer and decreasing time taken so buyer stays hot.

What type of platform am I needing... PHP? Who to contact to build something like this for me? Is there a name for this platform already that Im unaware of? Any advise and two cents will be of help.

Thanks Warriors.

We could actually do something like this for you but I can say that it would be cheap as it sounds like you are going to need some custom features to be added. But it is possible

unsure if you mistyped there, but im not sure this will be cheap... been doing research all day and found some sites but support down till Monday... there is a niche market out there for what I need... its mainly for medical equipment and layouts but I think it could be customized for what I intend to do with it.

Its a "product configurator" or "product builder" better known as cqs
      create, quote, ship

its a tool used to make the quoting process faster and to give the buyer the "feel" of product to help with the buying impulse.

Shoot me a pm if you think you can help... From the looks of it Im going to spend anywhere from 400 to 1200 depending on the complications and original input from me.
