How to Launch Your FBA Listing Like a PRO

Dear Warriors & experienced Amazon Gurus
here some questions for you:

-What's the best way to launch my PL product?

-How can I get 10-15 legitimate reviews FAST?

-How can I bump my BSR?

Long story short: what's the best way I can spend up to $500 in marketing, resources & tools? Free tips & hacks are also VERY welcome

The following are some resources I found to be interesting: Zonblast, Virallaunch, Salesbacker, Tomoson.
Any thoughts or experience with these? Any other suggestion?

Thanks for your help!

  • To get 15 real reviews,I am going to say probably 150+ real people need the product in their hands. Most folks (even when asked) will not leave a review unless they have something negative to say. My experience in a few different Amazon verticals is around 8-10% review / purchase rate. Your mileage may vary. Politely asking for an honest review with a followup helps, as does including a note in the box asking for a review.

You may need to think out of the box to get your product out there and in the hands of reviewers. Perhaps you run a giveaway contest of some sort on your social media accounts? Obviously how many you can give depends how much your widget costs.

I hope this gives you helpful info to consider.

      Hi rumifdx

I have a few suggestions for you.

I have been using Snagshout for launching products. While it is relatively expensive it has delivered results. Their platform works.

      Here's what you do:
Set up your new item on promotion for $1 using one time codes. Try and give away around 30-40 items on Snagshout, give these away at a rate of 10 a day. Make sure your product is set to full price while this is happening. This is the key. Even make it slightly more expensive than it should be.

While the promotion is running get a professional press release ready from fiver. Pay more than a fiver for good distribution etc. In the release state that you will have x% off your new product for x amount of time. Once the above promotion has finished issue your press release and drop your price to near cost. Sales will start flowing in. Raise your price slightly over the coming weeks until you have your desired price.

With the snagshout platform users cannot get another promo item until they have left a review on your product this is why I like it and this is how you will get 10-15 reviews quickly. They're other platforms similar to this you may just have to Google them.

Besides this I also look at similar products and check their reviews. I try and find a "top 500 Amazon reviewer", go to their details on Amazon and see if they have an email address. If so send them an email about giving them your product for a honest review. These people get these kind of emails all day long so many charge a fee for it (depending on the product).

Hope this helps. Best of luck with your launch

          Hey Warriors,

thanks a lot for the contribution to this thread, I definitely got some good suggestion from these.

No doubt I will share with you what I'll be doing next and which tool I'll be using.

Right now my products are on the way to the FBA warehouses and my listing is still inactive, but I guess in few days I'll be ready to launch and finally get into action; can't wait for that!...

Thank You & Have a Great Time!

@Donnaile: Recently I had more time so I've been looking into Snagshout and as you pointed out it does seem expensive.

Breaking it down for my specific product: the starting price on AMZ will be $19.99, and for it to be
considered a "Snag" I should set the coupon-price at $1.99, or even $0.99.

Considering the fact that my whole inventory is -for now- #100 items, I wouldn't feel comfortable "giving
away" let's say more than 30-40 items for 1 buck each: it wouldn't give me reliable data about real-world
success (or failure) of the product itself. Nonetheless I know that what I need like air is REVIEWS for my product, the more the better, as the reviews bump it up in the AMZ search engine results, and that increases SALES, which is THE goal.

So let's assume I give away 30 of them for $0.99. Following the Snagshout "small" plan I'll be paying $5 for EACH snag being sold: $5x30=$150; and my reviews are "not guaranteed", as stated on the Snagshout front-page for sellers.

The platform It does look good though, but for $150 that's the only thing I will get: 85% chance of getting legit reviews. Sign up or don't sign up then?!...

I'm also currently looking at AMZ Tracker, and for a flat monthly fee (starting from $30) it seems to offer something more than just reviews: page optimization, keywords rank tracking, reviews & other tools.

This last one it looks very promising to me: does any of you had personal experience with it to share?

I'll keep this thread updated as to inform others who may be in this same situation of mine.

Thank you all for your contributions & best regards

Be very careful about paying a company for reviews. Amazon has just changed their Terms Of Service about this yesterday (8/27). I wouldn't want to see that you paid for reviews and then see them all disappear the next day.

AMZTracker is a great software. If you get the $50 a month package you will have access to the review section of the software and should be able to use this to get some reviews quickly.

Check your keywords to see if they get any results, do some on page SEO for the product and then give away (or sell for $1) 15 products for a review and you should be on the right track.

Thanks for that heads-up on the policy change!
Would you say that Snagshout runs afoul of those new regulations?

I believe Snagshout and AMZ Tracker are on the same boat as per legitimacy of reviews concerns:
reviewers from these tools are actually legitimate buyers, even if they only pay ONE DOLLAR for your product.
Amazon will clearly set "Verified Purchase" on top of the review, so I don't think none of the above "runs afoul" of any regulations; a buyer is a buyer-period.

I finally opted for AMZ Tracker, running on the 7 days free trial now but I'm already in love with this program: super-urls made super-easy, page optimization, keywords research, competitor's spy (!), and of course the Review Club: after half hour (that's it, 30 MINUTES!) of posting my promotion I already have a dozen applicants for it.
I went to sleep and the day after the applications were.. over an HUNDRED!

I already made 5 sales after not even 24hrs of my listing getting live, and more are coming.

HINT: I set the sale price at $0.99 so to make it attractive for potential reviewers, but it just amazes me the amount of people looking for DEALS in exchange of honest reviews..

Now I just need to make sure that most of the buyers they WILL indeed leave a review!

I'll let you know how it goes
(can I have my affiliate's commission now?!;-)

          Cheers

            Hey,
I'm starting up too on FBA and this thread has been really helpful!
How are you getting on, now any 'proper' sales?
I have a question on this, does AMZTracker only work in the U.S. or is it UK too? Also does any one know of UK AMAZON software as a lot of it is for the U.S.?
            Thanks!

              Hey Ape100

I am also relatively new to FBA however I am selling in the US.

Upon @rumifdx suggestion I have moved away from Snagshout and am trying AMZreview. From what I can see inside the platform there are options to select amazon.co.uk so I believe it will work for the UK. You can sign up for a 7 day trial so there really is no risk if it doesn't work out.

I must say after a few days of use it has me hooked. I like their rankings system. They follow your keyword page rank and BSR rating so you can see where you are at. You can also include your sales to understand how they are affecting your BSR.

I moved away from Snagshout as it is expensive however I have got a 50% success rate at getting reviews so far. I am still expecting some more over the coming days.

Here's my findings regarding BSR, reviews etc:
-I drip fed my promo products out via Snagshout over 4/5 days. I gave away between 5-10 products a day at the discounted rate ($1-$2). I priced my product way higher than the competition during this phase.
-My BSR after the promo hit around 6K in the beauty department. It only ever lowered when a unit would sell. Keywords also ranked while giving away the promo.
-At this point I had 10 reviews. However getting more reviews had no effect on BSR so it started rising immediately without steady sales.
-Your aim during the initial promo is to get on page one so my advice is blitz it at the start to get there. I only got to page 2 for my main keyword which I reckon screwed me in the long run.
-I dropped my price to a few dollars above cost after promo however I only had one organic sale. I forgot to mention that I got 2 normal sales during the promo phase at the high price!! I wasn't expecting that.
-I ran Amazon ads immediately after promo, got a few clicks but no sales. I bid high to get on first page. I think my sales copy wasn't strong enough plus not enough reviews.
-About 4 days later my BSR was up to 100K and my KW were dropping pages.

Now I am in the process of implementing one more sales plan. My reviews have since doubled and I have revised my sales copy. I will report on whether this works or not in the coming weeks.

I am borderline on whether my product will succeed or not but I am always optimistic. If not I will try again with a different niche. I really believe one can make a comfortable living off Amazon FBA with private labelling so I literally won't give up until I get there.

              Hopes this helps

                Thanks for sharing Donnaile!
is comforting to see someone else in the exact same situation as me, especially now on the early stage of my venture.

Myself I gave away #30 coupon-codes on AMZ Tracker, got about 25 people buying at the discount price ($0.99) and also got 1 sale at the regular price: as you said, is still early to determine either or not is the "perfect" niche or "perfect" product, but I'm also confident and optimistic about the success of it.

Reviews start getting in (5 so far), and I'm expecting more (around 10 more at least) by the end of next week; once I get a total of 10-12 reviews I will put the PPC on to boost visibility (& hopefully sales) of my product, even though I'm now in page 5, 2, and 1 respectively for my 3 best combination of keywords.

AMZ Tracker is indeed useful on tracking those, and it also helps figuring out other keywords combinations I haven't thought of before.

BSR had a tremendous boost straight after the very first sales, and it obviously dropped down QUICKLY a few days later when the "deal hunters" were gone, but there's still plenty of room for improvement.

Is now been almost a week with my product live on Amazon, and I'm quite happy with the results so far.
But I'm well aware this is nothing but the beginning...

The new amazon policy doesn't say they will remove reviews. It says the reviews from verified purchases have more effect.

    Hi,
    Really good post!
I have a few questions for you.
How much capital did you have to start with?
How many units was your initial order?
When you put up the code for the $0.99 listing dod you also have to pay the pick and pack fee to amazon? So say you gave away 30 units did you have to pay 30 x the amazon fee too at the end of the month?
Thanks again and I look forward to your reply!
    Good work

      Hey Ape100,

I started out quite humble, spending around $230 for inventory (#100 pieces) and $200 for shipping.

For every $1 item sold you still need to pay FBA fees and shipping, so all these should be also taken in consideration.

As for AMZ Tracker they're now running a UK version.

      Hope this helps.

Let me know if you have other questions.

      Cheers

    Hey Rumifdx,
Thanks for getting back to me, that is quite a small amount to get started, from the whole thing will you make any profit do you think? Or now you have tested do you think you will go in big next time?
I'm seriously thinking about going gin to this but to do as a full time job I'd think I'd have to spend quite a bit on stock and marketing. Interested to see how you get on in the next few weeks.
    Thanks again

You should definitely try to create a review group of people who will test out your product and leave some unbiased honest reviews. Also with regards to marketing you should definitely give Facebook ads a shot, that way you will be able to target audiences who would benefit from your product and get some nice targeted sales
