Alibaba vs wholesale.alibaba.com

Just wanted to know if anyone has heard of wholesale.alibaba.com? What is the difference between that and alibaba.com? To be honest, alibaba.com kind of sucks the way it looks and is set up, while wholesale.alibaba.com is better. The reason I think wholesale.alibaba.com is better is because you can search by quantity, price, and there are even some feedback ratings about some of the sellers. Has anyone ever heard of/used wholesale.alibaba.com? If so, what are your experiences with them? I look forward to hearing your responses.

I believe any subdirectory to alibaba are sellers on the site. Probably a smart seller trying to get business with the name. Don't be fooled.

I've heard so much bad stuff about alibaba.com in general. In my online eCommerce courses, I have also been told to use alibaba.com but to make sure that I sample items before buying a bunch of items in bulk. I have not used them yet because I am not sure if I can trust them.

@iwhiz is right, but don't forget that the word "wholesale" is widely used to give the impression that you are getting the lowest price.

The "wholesale" section of Alibaba is almost the same as Aliexpress. Both are B2C not B2B.

Buying samples from suppliers on Alibaba will not do you much good. Are those samples coming from a manufacturer or a trader?

You need to learn how to tell the difference, because wholesalers buy from the manufacturers, add a big margin and then sell to you. If you buy direct from the manufacturer you get to bank that extra margin.

The great majority of suppliers listed on Alibaba as manufacturers are in fact traders, not manufacturers.
