How terrible is my e-commerce site?

Looking for brutally honest feedback here. It's a shopify store with some custom code. Overall I'm happy with most things but I really need an outside perspective to improve it.

Please feel free to comment on everything... graphics, fonts, layout navigation, aesthetic appeal etc.

I actually really like it. It's clean and all the products and call to action buttons stick out clearly. Looks nice, good work.

      Looks good. Nice and clean.

      A few points:

      1. Site identity is missing (favicon)
      2. Add a return policy page (link at bottom)
      3. Your missing some social icons on the footer that can be shared via the product pages (pinterest, twitter)

It looks fine. What matters is sales. Are you getting any sales?

What are you doing to get traffic and conversions to your site

Very nice, but as a woman, I'd like to see a little bit more color and flair to draw me in.

You asked for brutally honest so here goes.

        The Good
Strong shipping terms so your cart abandonment should be low.
        Shopify - Good page speeds.
All the display pictures are all the same size and shape for consistency.

        The Bad

"generic ecommerce site" with no personality and certainly not targeted towards women. essentially, white on white on white with a tiny bit of green.

Which also means, why should they order from you? No story, no personality.

No about us page, No privacy (required by your merchant provider and Paypal), no terms and conditions, no frequently asked questions.

You have choosing the right curl in the product description. Remove the collections from the front page and instead, use that space to guide the customer.

"Do you know what curl you are looking for? Different curls have different amounts of curve." Then link to collections with all your J's, B's, C's and D's. Order some for a friend and have her try them on so you can actually take pictures and show what the different curls look like on a person"

Take the 10% off link, instead add a pop up like in this tutorial They don't need to leave shopping to get that discount.

Add tutorials on how to put the lashes on. Even it if it something like this:

What is the difference between silk and mink and what one do i want to order and why?

I know girls here in Hawaii wear them all the time so consider offering a subscription service that every month, new lashes will be sent. This can be done with a free plugin that charges as a percentage.

You are on a boxed theme so at the very least, add a background on those sidebars. check for some free ones here Subtle Patterns | Free textures for your next web project. Find one you like and use Canva to do a transparent overlay.

Budget $100 to order some samples, to take more than just the stock photos from your drop shipper and do some videos to show how they are put on. Given them to the girl who is doing it for you as "comensation"

Thanks all. This is pretty much exactly what I was after.

I've thought at times the site could be a lot more feminine so I've starting making some changes in that regard and will continue to do so.

OnlineStoreHelp... Some excellent suggestions. Not sure why I forgot about the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service as I've put them on every other site I've made.

As for the product pictures... Most of them were shot and edited by me (with the exception of some of the glues and Blink lash trays) as the stock actually resides at our home. I have plenty of other photos that I can edit and upload however. In hindsight I probably overdid the branded photos while neglecting some of the other products.

If you wouldn't mind elaborating though... Is there anything else in particular I should try and add in regards to the pictures? Just more angles etc?

Thanks again to everyone who commented... I'm in the process of implementing pretty much every change suggested so far. Please feel free to keep any suggestions coming though.

It would be useful to see how they look on a girl, not just on a background. Also, if you get an angle from the side, they can get a sense of the amount of curve. "installation" instructions are useful as well. So if I was doing this I would:

Package pictures which you have already

Get a girl with nice manicured hands to hold one to get a sense of size and perspective.
Get a girl to do the make up real good. smokey eyes and all that with the eye lashes on to show what they look like.

Maybe a close up of the backing materials.

Essentially with photos, the buyer should be able to know everything about the product just by looking through pictures. How it looks in a package, from different angles, on someone.

Thanks again for the replies everyone.

I've started making changes based on the feedback I've received so far...

There's not a great deal I can do about the colour scheme as I've had the lash trays themselves manufactured using the green black and white from the website but I'll maybe try to find ways to inject some additional colours into the site without affecting the original branding.

I've worked hard to try and give it a more feminine touch.

Just one thing to note... The site is actually based toward eyelash extension technicians who apply the lashes to other women, not for do it yourself at home types, so generally some knowledge on the products is assumed as applying eyelashes in this manor requires training, however I'll still put together an FAQ or beginners section just to make sure all possible questions are answered and customers are comfortable with what they're buying.

Please feel free to leave additional feedback on the changes I've made so far.

And thanks again for all your help!

I like your site for its clean and simple. But, since the products are the lashes for woman and as a girl, I prefer a more colourful page because the lashes on the site are all black.

    Wow! I love it!

One thing of advice.. Since list building is key to ever 86% of businesses.

You should have a little popup that comes up asking if they would like to join your newsletter and get sent coupons and tips and stuff instead of having it at the bottom, but I don't think it's bad at all!

    I love it!

Just a thought, but hope this helps

As most everyone else said, color color color. That green font should be a deep purple, pink or perhaps black and then add color by using photos with extreme/sexy makeup.. You're trying to attract a certain type of woman (that wears false lashes and therefore she probably uses colorful eye shadow) that will be drawn to a feminine stylized website.

You definitely need more photos and tutorials, along with Instagram and other social media accounts.

Here is a more subdued color example, House of Lashes® yet the website is extremely popular. Instagram will be the key to your success - beautiful pictures and tutorials will attract customers..

Definitely do what Adam Yunker said. A simple popup boost your email opt-ins tremendously.

Next, I'd add the ability to leave review on the products. I used to use the Yotpo app with Shopify. It was great and free.

Beside that I really liked the design, but as other's said maybe you could do something with the color.
