Will y'all please tell me EXACTLY what sort of information I will need and what actions I will need to take before I start building my ecommerce site. I don't want to start then have to stop because I don't have some piece of vital info that they need. For example, what about my payment processor and payment gateway information? I'm probably going use either Shopify or BigCommerce. Or, do they take of all that as you move along in the building process? Just make a list of anything you can think of, 1.2.3. etc..Thanks!

Get at the very least a DBA with your city/state, get a Federal EIN number too. For Shopify, all you need is to provide them with a credit card to charge the membership fees and a ban account so they can deposit your sales in there.

BigCommerce - I have no idea.

im stuck somewhere now too with alot of things to think about.

      1) Continue on reading without implementation or learn as i start the business
      2) E-commerce site (woocommerce on wordpress) or FBA
      3) Stocks: Drop ship or Import

Setting up your own ecommerce site and also putting some of your inventory into FBA may be the way to proceed. FBA will have a big advantage over your own site for several reasons, the most important is that Amazon.com has a huge amount of buyer traffic already and you want to have your inventory available to them.

A very large percentage of people who plan to buy online go directly to Amazon to search for what they want.

    Hello,
The first step is to make sure that you have done complete and intensive market research. This is just to make sure that you are venturing into something that you have perfect user requirements. You will be able to make sure that the platform you are using is secure more so with the fact that you will integrate the payment methods such as paypal into the website. After finding the exact payments methods to use, you will also be sure to find the exact products that the site will be stocking. This is to help find the way to have them displayed.
