Starting to Learn the Principles of Marketing

As I'm starting to understand it, as an online splinter marketer, this is what you do--correct me, if you're wrong.

1. Pick something to sell.

2. Market yourself well.

3. On your site, praise your "something" to high heaven, going into exquisite, and loving detail about it--making it seem cooler, and more unique than at the store you bought it.

4. Sell said "something" at a ridiculously high mark-up price.

5. And, a small, but decisive sub-group of your audince--also known as patsies will reward, via paying through the nose.

Any questions?

As I've been studying this, I have been wondering if this can be of any use to me, given I'd like to make money on the internet, but don't wish the feel like a total shill. I wouldn't feel honest, and I'd feel like a taker, anot a giver.

That said, a good infomercial, like those of ROn Popeil, were part product review, weren't they? It would be fine if there were something I could believe in selling, but I don't yet see it.

I've been making stuff for YouTube, but I still don't understand if I can really market myself on it, because I'm still not clear exactly wat it takes. I enjoy making things that make myself, and others laugh, but I fear I'm not focused, enough.

My suggestion is to start your learning process again.

The forces in any market are so against what you think.

    Maybe this might help
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supply_and_demand

It is even painful to try to give you advice when there is so much gibberish and mis-information in your OP.

The best way I can reply to your post (other than ignoring it) is

    1. Find a product to sell

    2. Market that product

    3. Honestly represent the benefits of the product you are promoting.

    4. Sell the product for a fair price where you make a fair profit.

    5. Respect your customers

    6. Ask them politely to buy something from you again...and tell their friends about you.

    Simple.

Okay. I'm just getting a little frustrated, really. I have ideas, but I'm really trying to focus, mainly. I'm having trouble trying to imagine a strong enough theme for my videos, here:
    https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCR3...G3HL1FME83grfw

I know I'm supposed to find other similar channels to mine, but that can be either a good thing, or bad thing, because it can mean either my niche doesn't exist, or else it is too small. I f good, it means I've come up with something quite unique.

Specifically, I'm looking for vlog, or channel outreach techniques, on YouTube; it's very hunt-and-peck.

Really, I could use someone examining my products, i.e. my vlogs, and blogs, and help me figure out where to go. As is, I'm largely winging it. I need to find a way, really, that reflects me, and not just apes soul-less marketers. It needs to be a product I care about, but if I have it, I don't quite see how to be honest, about it.

Read the wikipedia. Seems none too relevant for me, really.
