Hi guys,

Was after a little help here. I've had a successful eBay/Amazon business for 10 years but recently sales are dropping and things are looking bad so I'm looking for new opportunities

I realise now that I have missed a huge slice of the cake as after probably 1 million sales, I have not been building a list and I haven't been promoting my own website. Lesson learnt. Kicked myself repeatedly. Face palm etc.

Anyway, I have 2 questions:

1st question - How can I, most effectively, and without risking my eBay/Paypal account, add new eBay sales to a mailing list.

I've just signed up to a free trail of Aweber. I was thinking that in my "order shipped email" (the one that comes from my server - not the ebay generated one) I would include a link to the newsletter signup page, possibly with an incentive to sign up

I also note that there is a Paypal/Aweber integration but this seems to send the the newsletter confirmation email without them requesting it. Is this too spammy?

Anyone know of any other methods?

2nd question - I have hundreds of thousands of buyer emails in Paypal from the last 10 years. While these may be cold leads now, I know they are interested in my niche and are previous buyers.
I'm thinking of offering them a free cheap product if they sign up. (total cost maybe £1)

Is this legal (in the UK) ? Recommended? Will it get me in trouble with eBay/Paypal/ISP?
How can I email this number of people without getting flagged for spam (I'd probably do them in batches of a few hundred, split testing the ad copy)

Thanks very much for your help guys, if I can get some decent money out of this it might save my last 2 members of staff and ultimately my business.

Dave
