[edit: the links in my post got a bit weird, I don't know why this is. They still work, though.]

I am in contact with and planning to buy from this company:

wooden toys;educational toys;wood games;wood blackboard-Jixiang International Co.,Ltd

Since this is the first time I'm trying to get goods from China I am a bit hesistant. According to is jixiangtoy.com a scam or legit | jixiangtoy.com trust reviews |check jixiangtoy.com for fraud and risk | is jixiangtoy.com safe or fake , the website is one year old. There are also quite a few spelling mistakes on there, and the site itself does not have a very professional look.

I understand that spelling mistakes are common and that this probably is no scam. Can you give me tips on how to make this sure?

Help is much appreciated, thanks!

Spelling mistakes should not be of concern since who knows they
    have a Chinese webmaster!
Try to verify them with the China companies regulation authority.
Search their website. Contact some authority responsible for registering
companies in China. They should have that specific company registered as a business.
They will at least guide you how could you check the business status of a Chinese company
in question. If it is not registered, it is shadowy; may be some Niko Picko is running it.
    Stay away from them.

Just a note also watch what you buy and be sure that the paint used by this company does not have lead in it.Known to put lead in paints and parents shy away from these items.

I would have no concerns about dealing with this well established Taiwan based company. They are genuine manufacturers. They have previously used a .tw website and that is why their .com website is so recent.

Spelling mistakes are common in any publication by people who are not native English speakers, so don't worry about that.

You're welcome. Just remember that asking them if a product contains lead and them answering NO, doesn't mean that the paint is lead-free.

There are safety regulations relating to paint on wooden toys and to sell them you will need appropriate certification.

Ask the supplier do they have certification. If they provide a certificate, it is still necessary to check its authenticity, because forging of compliance certificates is widespread in Asia.
