Ecommerce Site for Thousands of Products

Hi there,

I'm trying to start an online store with thousands of products. I'm currently on the trial for BigCommerce and really enjoy the easy of usage. However, my list of products all have tier pricing. For example, if you buy more than 10, it will be priced at $xx.xx and if you buy more than 20 then its priced at $xx.xx. I can do this all in BigCommerce but I would need to go into the product itself and update it one by one.
With over 1000+ products, it has been not only time consuming but restricting me from opening my online store = losing money.

Does anyone know if there is a ecommerce site that allows me to do tier bulk pricing by uploading a csv file? or if anyone recommend a good ecommerce site that can help me with this request? I already tried Shopify and cannot just throw another $69.99 a month for a shop that I haven't even got a chance to open.

Thanks for your help

Why do you find it necessary to sell so many products? You are not Best Buy nor Walmart. All you will likely do is alienate potential customers with a product bloated website. Can you not narrow your niche?

I'm selling wedding favours and i have 3 different distributors so they have lots of products. It would be really hard to narrow it down to what i would want to sell if most of the items they sell are for wedding. Many of the competitors i have sell almost everything on their site so i'm just trying to make sure i'm competing with the right people.

Some niches demand you have a variety of related products. I sell automotive lamps and lights. Basically a single narrow niche, but requires you to have hundreds of items just to meet basic needs of customers.

The ready-made package of this e-commerce platform is very affordable i.e. $250 and it is only 1 time investment. But if you want to do tier bulk pricing by uploading a csv file, I think you will have to go for its custom package. You can connect with the team to confirm this. Multivendor Ecommerce Platform ? Thank you! I'll definitely check it out and inquiry.

  • Have you tried implementing it with Magento? Magento is quite flexible in these matters.

I was looking at the Magento site and read some review showing that its not as user friendly. As i'm not that strong in customizing sites and all the codes, wouldnt that cause a problem?

You don't need html experience with Wordpress. It's by far the easiest cms to get sites up and running fast, particularly ecommerce sites. There are millions of wordpress tutorials. A little html experience wouldn't hurt either, but that's for any site building. An example, a simple link in the sidebar requires that you know how to write a link, which is html.

Usually these kinds of platforms have restrictions, big-commerce, shopify and other average level online store builders have lots of restriction. If you want to get rid of these restrictions then its time to use woo-commerce.

I actually ended up going with Bigcommerce. I tried to use Woocommerce and found myself really incapable when it comes to setting anything up. Once i get the hang out of it i will then switch over to Woocommerce where I have more understanding what needs I require

I have over 1000 products in my WooCommerce store and all works smoothly. Not sure about your exact need for pricing however. Maybe some plugin exists for that need (or even an option within a naked WC), but not sure.

You're just a shill for Yo!Kart. Who even heard of it except for a few shills in this forum?

      "Starts at Only $250"

WCVendors is FREE and works great for a multi-vendor extension for WooCommerce.

I'd stick with Bigcommerce and then hire someone from Upworks to assist you with updating the numbers. If you do your due diligence and interview the people you feel are qualified, you will find someone awesome. You will be thankful you have someone doing the data entry long term because it saves you a lot of time and keeps you from having to do the boring stuff.

I'd also look for something to communicate the inventory levels to your store automatically. You could always use something like GoDataFeed if your distributor has an FTP you can access.
