Hey guys,

I've been testing a few things over the past months in the ecom arena. As you'd expect the results have been all over the place. I am interested in learn if anyone has test a "single" page for ecom - not a store.

Meaning, you're driving traffic to a page, similar to teespring and there is no real front end.

Has anyone tested this ?

    Let's clear up a couple of things . . .

By using the term "ecom" I assume you're talking about physical products? Is that right? Really, "ecom" just means e-commerce and that could be anything sold online including digital products, music, subscriptions, etc.

When I first started selling online (a long time ago), I sold some small items that were not part of a store by driving traffic to a single page. It didn't work out very well.

I stopped doing that for several reasons:
    • I wanted to build an email list and subscriber rates were not good given that my signup form was not the gateway into my business.
    • I didn't have a method set up to pre-sell my products and hitting my leads cold with a sales page didn't work so well.
    • Most sales are not made on initial contact (my experience) so I always try to have something to keep the prospect coming back - but with a single sales page it's hard to engage prospects.
    • You really need more than a single page, even if you just sell one product. You don't want to put your policies, about me, contact info, etc all on one page.
    • With a single sales page you don't get the lead exposed to other products you're selling in the niche like you do with a storefront.
That's just my experience, but it was enough to convince me to not use that strategy anymore.

Thank you for your "input", but it's generic. Everything you've posted is the basic "MMO" thinking, which isn't working anymore. Clearly, you don't have a clue who I am, so we won't hold that against you. lol

I am talking about "RETAIL - DROPSHIPPING" ...

People are sending millions of people each and everyday to a teespring page, which sells t-shirts. Yet, I don't see a single outlet where they've tested this in terms of selling say a iphone case.

That's what I am talking about, not building a list or pre framing, nothing of that nature is what I am talking about. I am talking about - getting to buy on impulse. Don't think like a MMO guy for this thread please. LOL!

    Yes.

I have done it several times. Still do with a number of products. One single sales page for a single product. When the purchase button is clicked it takes the customer straight through to an amazon listing page where they purchase directly.

    Good luck with your venture.
