Magento is a clear winner. It is in really demand right now. Magento 2.0 comes with so many changes.

Magento 2.0 is really in demand for budgets- since you cannot easily port from previous core version.
Saas is cheaper- even in a long run- count in admins fee, developers, testers, additional modules etc....

Chose Saas for professionals- they live from live business, not one-time deal or parasite process...

Woocommerce is very good. If you are looking for good user friendliness, then it is the best option for you.

If you are planning to make a large site with lots of products, I think Magento is the best option for you. It is very secured but not very user friendly.

Depends on the size of your store and how much ecommerce experience you have but I would recommend having a look at shopify. It's pretty cost effective and really easy to use and can grow with your business.

Easiest is using Wordpress and just use Woocommerce themes and plugins. There are also cool free shopping cart like Opencart but you have to work on extendability or enhancing it functions to meet your ecommerce site requirements.

There are MANY CMS out there. It all depends on the look you want and what you want it to do. For me it was more about how much I can customize and is open source. So wordpress was definitely at the bottom of that list.

Magento is an powerful and feature rich open source eCommerce platform. However, magento is a CMS, it has various extensions and templates design to develop a rich and search engine friendly eCommerce store.

    One more vote for opencart.
Themes and extensions are not expensive as magento's, code is open and you can easily modify it.
    So go for opencart!

WooCommerce all the way for me. Easy to get a new site launched and unlimited use of extensions and themes to launch as many ecommerce sites as you wish. No monthly fees for the cms. Widely used .... over 1/3 of ecommerce sites are built on WooCommerce.

It all depends on your goals and your time available.

If you are thinking to start a big scale ecommerce store, then I'd go with Magento or Open Cart. Of course, you gotta dedicate 100% of your time to get it up and running.

Now, on the other hand, understanding you are a busy business person, your choice would be WooCommerce for Wordpress. The learning curve is pretty short: you can be up and running very quickly. Plus you count on a large extensions library.

Hope this helps you to make a decision.

Depending on the size of store and experience, you cannot go wrong with Shopify. Even if you start with them and get big, they have plans to accommodate that as well so you will not have to move over to another platform.

Plus they are very good on the backend for SEO and the admin area is very simple but effective. On top of that, they provide all sorts of articles to read. Very resourceful.

    Good luck!
