Dropshipping vs Affiliate Marketing

hi digital marketing experts,

I need your opinion which one is most effective Dropshipping or Affiliate Marketing. I would like to know you success story and the effort behind your success if you are in these businesses.

I don't know to choose which one. Can anyone here explain the pros and cons of both of them.

    Drop shipping of course. It involves more work and risk but if you fight for targeted traffic at least get the most out of it. You set your own price, I've seen people that ask for 5-7 times the price of items in China. As an affiliate is not worth selling products under $10, but with drop shipping you can easily do it.

    Drop-shipping is one thing and Affiliate is other thing. If you wanna do drop-shipping then you will need to take risk and also need investment. But when affiliate things come, then you don't need any investment. But you can easily promote someone's product and earn money. Both has good demand. Sometimes drop-shipping has great value and sometime affiliate. So you will decide what you would love to do.

    For physical products I believe drop-shipping (or better yet, handling full supply chain) is better simply because you get like 8% as an Amazon affiliate vs. two or even three digits percentage margin when you sell yourself.

    For information products there's no such thing as drop-shipping, so unless you create your own product, affiliate is the only way to go.

    Affiliate Marketing is far safer than Drop Shipping. If you are planning on drop shipping, make absolutely sure you know the manufacturer very well. When it comes to drop shipping, can you trust the manufacturer / wholesaler to deliver the products as promise. That's a question you need to honestly answer yourself.

    It's important to make sure Drop Shippers are reliable and trust worthy as you are relying on an external source (a company you don't have control over) to make goods on delivering on their end.

    In startup I think the best thing is affiliate business specially with amazon. List your product on amazon and check keywords competition and products reviews through Eglim - Amazon Market Research Software and Tracking Tool and start your small business easily.

    It depends on your personal preferences, dropshipping for me has been more rewarding. That is not to say that people have not made good fortunes with affiliate marketing.
