Questions about shipping

As drop shipper on eBay using Aliexpress I often wonder what happens if parts of someone's address are wrong or missing

For example a customer has given me his/her right name, address + number, zip code but the wrong city and state/province data. What is going to happen to this persons package if I ship to his/her address?

Ebay doesn't require to fill in a state/province/region but Aliexpress does, sometimes (even when googling a customers city) It's not clear what this customers state/province/region is.

Is there a website or software to look this up easily?

Thank you in advance!

I'm not sure about what happens in your situation but we use two primary payment processors in our online ecommerce sites who validate addresses as part of their payment processing service.

It doesn't eliminate errors happening where delivery addresses are different from the payment processing address but you could perhaps look at payment processing addresses if you have access to them.

In my experience when an address is wrong or when a delivery has attempted to be made but failed there is usually a notification to the customer that an item is awaiting collection at the post office or the local freight depot.

If the goods are not collected within a set time (often 14 days) they end up back with us.

As for a drop shipped product from a foreign country I'm not sure.

For products we drop ship domestically we would normally get notification from the supplier that the delivery failed and then we contact the customer to clarify addresses etc.

    Best regards,

    Ozi
