An online merchant or a business website owner would want to integrate a credit card payment processing capability into the business so that the business can generate greater sales. However, the mere integration of the payment gateway would not suffice, as your eCommerce also requires a featured payment gateway that brings greater payment success rates. Here are some features that provide for the best payment success rates and lesser abandoning of transactions. These features also provide for greater customer conversion and retention rates.

Smart Routing

The best of payment gateways and international merchant account providers in India (for instance EBS Payment Gateway) have this feature. The features use an algorithm for switching all the purchase and financial transactions automatically. Through the feature, the payment gateway chooses the best performing gateway that can offer the greatest success rates. Hence the feature provides for lesser rejection rates.

Auto Retry

Sometimes the transactions fail because of insufficient balance, expired cards, wrong balance and because of other reasons. The Auto Retry feature helps the customers to save time, as they are not required to input the same information again and again during a transaction. The feature boosts the payment success rates by around 10% to 12%.

Inclusion of All Online Payment Modes

The payment gateway should be able to process payments made by customers through all kinds of online payment modes. These include credit cards (including international cards like Visa and MasterCard), debit cards, net banking, EMI collection, net banking, mobile payment collection and others.

For us, a super important thing is that the payment processor can set up multiple websites under the same account, meaning you do not need to pay monthly minimum charges for multiple websites (especially brand new ones). When you have nearly 50 online stores like we do right now, this can be quite a savings!

We help sellers get the MAXIMUM amount for their websites and all buyers know that these sites are 100% vetted.

Dave, do you have any suggestions/recommendations for such payment gateways? Stripe is not a question, as it's not available for some EU countries yet.

We use Durango. Until recently, they were only an option for the U.S. and Canada but we were sent a memo a couple weeks ago by them that they now have an agreement in place with some major bank where they can process charges for many European companies. I seem to recall that it was only companies in the Soviet and former Soviet bloc countries that they would not process charges for (lots of fraud in those countries, I suspect).

Credit card payment is an issue for most of the online retailers.

That is true. I think that there should be more than one options for the customer to pay. Every customer has their own preference and availability of means of payment. If there is a wider option then we secure those conversions which may otherwise be driven away due to the unavailability of their preferred checkout option
