Hi - I'm new to dropshipping and looking around on Alibaba trying to set up my products. Quick newbie question, if I can: When it says the price for an item is US $1.9 - 5/Piece 50 Piece/Minimum Pieces (Min. Order), does this mean I get five pieces for $1.90 US or the price per unit ranges from $1.90 to $5?

Thanks!

It means that the price ranges from $1.9 to 5. Most of the prices are not fixed though and you get more accurate prices after talking to them.

Why would you want to dropship when the margins are so low?

In answer to your question; the prices quoted are per unit.

If you are looking at such low cost items you will need to sell them at 5 or 10 times your cost to cover the fees such as eBay, PayPal, Amazon, postage etc. and be left with a profit worth your time and risk.

You will find it hard to get suppliers on Alibaba to dropship for you, and anyway, dropshipping from China is a very bad business model. Just do some research and you will find plenty of adverse comments on the forum about this business model.

Have you considered a real, and highly profitable, long term business involving buying small inventory direct from manufacturers? I have taught hundreds how to safely source small quantities direct from genuine manufacturers and then import the easy way.
