AliExpress/DropShipping Efficiency

Hello Chaps,

I've managed to build a small niche community and I'm looking into drop shipping to satisfy their thirst for products!

I've identified a manufacturer etc etc, however it is a ball ache transferring the data from aliexpress to my shopify store. There are plugins available such as shopified that do this for you, however it is priced at around $1k and while I'm willing to pay I don't think that's good value for a script.

What do you guys do to make your drop shipping operation more efficient? Are there any more reasonably priced products?

Best,
Vision

Scratch that! I must have found it in an old link when they were charging that much for it! Nevermind.

I'd like to hear your experience though

If you have $1,000 that you would have been willing to pay for a program such as Shopify, why throw money down the drain by dropshipping in the first place?

Dropshipping profit margins are pathetic compared to the huge margins you can make by buying direct from manufacturers in China. Not only that, but you have control, not being dependant on a supplier thousands of miles away who might deliver when they promise, or who might forget to tell you they are out of stock, or who might just be a plain scammer anyway.

With inventory you can ship quickly and your suppliers don't know who your customers are.

Here is an email from someone who started off with less than $300: "Ok. From extremely skeptical to successful completion. Credit given where credit is due. I followed the book instructions you laid out. Took my time to double check everything and was able to successfully import an order from China. Not only that but it was also a “sample order” for less than 300.00. A 300% mark up has allowed to get initial investment back and I have 70% of my inventory left. Stop promoting your book. Your encouraging competition for me Many thanks." Email on file for FTC inspection if required.

Others have posted on this forum about even higher margins than that by buying direct from China.

I have taught hundreds how to safely source and how to import the easy way. For some ideas have a look at this thread where you can ask questions of you like: Ask Me Anything About Product Sourcing And Importing For Profit. ― Veteran Importer Here. (NOTE: the Warrior Forum link didn't work, so scroll down the eCommerce page to find the thread.)

If you have found a real manufacturer on Aliexpress, consider yourself lucky. Most who claim to be manufacturers are traders. You should also check out some Aliexpress reviews. That might change your mind about thinking of buying there.

It does work OK, but I suspect it has been messed with by the mods. I replied to the post by shoregirl68, with a factual answer to her question, but that reply was deleted (no notification received by me) and her quote was incomplete.
