Hello,
My current site is 16 years old (and was made with Microsoft FrontPage 2000) so I am building a new site with Shopify. Is it best to redirect the old Frontpage pages to the new ones in Shopify or to run both concurrently until the old one dies a natural death. The old site has been steadily declining even though I can still make a living at it. My rankings have dropped quite a bit in the last couple of years. Thanks in advance!

Why would you redirect anything? Are you completely changing the website name and, if so, why? Use the same domain name and use the same URLs for pages. I'm not sure if Shopify gives you complete control over a URL so that you can match exactly what you had for your FrontPage website. If not, other shopping cart solutions like BigCommerce and 3DCart give you that kind of control.

Regardless, if you cannot create custom URLs with the platform you are moving to, you can always 301-redirect the old URLs to the new ones. Google has recently stated that there is no loss in "juice" for pages with 301-redirects.

Whatever you do, don't change the main domain name unless you absolutely have to.
