Hey,

Quick question here - I'm trying to learn more about eCommerce stores and I know a lot of people use Shopify and other services like that for their online store while some people use Wordpress and implement their own shopping cart feature, like there are a lot of options when it comes to how to move products online.

My question is how do you guys take payment for goods and services online? What methods do you take and how are they integrated into your page so that people can buy directly from you? I know that when I was just starting out this was one of the main barriers preventing me from establishing a successful online store - I just didn't know how to solve this problem and I was probably scared because I was quite young.

Options I'm interested in hearing about would be Paypal, anything related to direct debit including interac eTransfer and instadebit, and any way of processing credit card payments.

We set up PayPal Standard and some major credit card processing company - either using PayPal Payments Pro, Durnago or Stripe for credit cards.

  • It is true that there are different options out there to take payments for goods and services online. PayPal is a good option to start with since PayPal has been a trusted payment method for quite a while now. Some other payment services that you may want to look into is WooCommerce, 2Checkout, Stripe, ACH payments, WePay (only available for U.S. citizens), Authorize.net, Amazon, and more.
