Private Label Product Safety Certs

I'm manufacturing a private label children's product that I'll be selling on Amazon. I'm at the point where I'm looking into any required safety certifications and struggling to do so. I've been looking at the ASTM website but am confused about how to figure out what certifications my product needs and how to go about getting them. Does anyone have resources on this or any personal experiences to share? How do I go about finding out what certifications my product needs? Thanks!

It seems to me you should contact Amazon directly to find out the necessary info for you.

Well, I'm looking for safety requirements that would apply to any kids products, regardless of where they're sold

You can be fairly confident that if you meet the US requirements you will most likely meet the requirements for any country, but you should do a Google search for those rules in any country where you might sell.

Labeling requirements also apply to a lot more than just safety, and they will have variations in some countries, particularly relating to sizes.

Awesome! Thanks for the CPSC website! I hadn't found that yet and it answers a lot of my label questions.
How do I go about finding the US requirements? Sorry, I'm new at this and have been lost in a blackhole of Google searches trying to figure it out.

You will find the answer here: U.S. Labeling Requirements for Textile and Apparel Products but you might need to cut and paste this link to your search bar.

If you are importing these clothes, you can have them woven or printed by the supplier. Printing is much cheaper, and the lowest cost will be if you choose only 1 color print.

If you choose woven labels you will have to pay a jacquard cost to set up (usually about $200) and you will have to order several thousand labels.

Don't forget if importing that you need to check on tariffs according to country of origin. Also you need to check and see if quotas apply.
