Can I use Etsy sellers to dropship?

I have a storenvy store newly created. I am planning to get items like products from etsy because of its unique indie products? Is that a good idea? There is no one talking about dropshiping using ETSY and I am thinking because it is not a good source for products to dropship. Am I missing something?

I am also looking into Aliexpress as well but how do you solve out of stock problem. For e.g: someone bought into your store and then when you go to aliexpress and then suddenly the item is out of stock. What to do then?

    The sellers on Etsy hate that.

    You'd have to ask them first for permission to avoid your website getting shut down for copyright issues. They can easily tell the forum and then you'll have tons of other sellers fighting to get their stuff off your website . Seen it happen a lot of times.

    So if you want to dropship from Etsy ask the sellers first.

    Some might agree to do dropshipping once or twice (I'm an Etsy seller and I've done it myself) but it is a real hassle and there is too much risk. I will never do it again. There isn't an easy way to do blind dropshipping from an Etsy seller's standpoint--all of their information will be on the shipping label. You would have to charge over full retail because it is not feasible or worthwhile for an Etsy seller to offer discounts on random transactions--especially if items are made to order.

    To make the most of the cool stuff on Etsy--I would try to build relationships with sellers that offer good wholesale terms and buy the stock yourself. If you are planning on marketing the items as your own brand, Etsy is probably not the best place to do that. If you sold the item as your own and Etsy found out, the original seller could get shut down under the suspicion of their items not being handmade.

    Thanks guys for the answers. I decided not to use etsy to dropship and opt-ed for aliexpress. Contacted several Etsy sellers and all of them said NO - so time to move on

      I do not know if you are on etsy wholesale or not but buyers can sort shops by drop ship availability. I am an etsy seller for mugs and most of my business is drop shipping for websites, So I do know that many etsy sellers do without issue. They just have to be set up for it.
