Drop Shipping for beginners

Hey so I have watched quite a few Youtube videos on Dropshipping, mainly DropShip Lifestyle ones, my goal is to pick a Niche, set up a Shopify Store, Get suppliers, Advertise ideally through Instagram to start with as i already am familiar with using that.

However i do not want to rush into anything I would like advice from other members on my plan above ^ , aswell as suggestions on Books, Videos, Free Courses to learn more.

Quick Question: I have heard some people saying dropshipping from Alibaba, etc is no good as delivery is too long its best finding suppliers and asking to become online retailers for them and proving them with your, Store and your plan on how to promote, can someone give me their opinon on this, thanks.

    Isn't Alibaba more of a bulk wholesale site?

    You need to be able to rely on your drop shipping suppliers to be quick and dependable. I wouldn't rely on drop shipping from an overseas supplier. Unreliable ones in the US are bad enough.

      Huh not sure if I explained it well or not but I don't want an oversea drop shipper I wanted a bit of help on where to learn or read more about drop shipping stores related to Shopify, i mainly need support on finishing and talking to suppliers.

    Shopify is just one of many shopping cart platforms. They are no better or no worse than others like BigCommerce, 3DCart, Americommerce, etc. They all have their strengths and weaknesses. I sure hope there is no eCommerce course built around using just one shopping cart. We like some better than others but we always say "use whatever one you are most comfortable with".

    You can sign up for the free course we offer. It is almost the opposite approach that Dropship Lifestyle uses. Like shopping carts, neither is wrong. The methodology of finding a viable niche is quite different, though. We just think ours is better for building a website business that continues to grow.

    I've been reselling from Alibaba super successfully and its definetly possible. I prefer Alibaba, DHgate and Globalsources over AliExpress anytime. AliExpress is a pure end-consumer platform, you don't get any wholesale, let alone manufacturer prices.

    You don't have to talk with them about your promotion strategy, just ask about their products, your desired quantity and their MOQ (minimum order quantity).

    Alibaba is more of a bulk wholesale site, yes, but many suppliers on there also dropship (not super happily but still).
