Hi,

I'm interested in starting a drop shipping site with Shopify. I'd like to know what I should expect to pay for advertising/marketing (ex fb ads) on a monthly basis.

Thank you

    We tell people to start with Google Shopping and Bing Shopping ads. Your ads run for about a month before you even pay for them. If you are selling products with a decent profit (i.e. $50 or more per order), you'll make more than what the ads cost, so the "cost" should be negative - part of the profits you've already made from the ads are used to pay for them at month's end.

    We only use facebook for re-marketing to people who have already been to the website. For most niches, facebook is not a good advertising platform to just run straight ads - especially to product pages. Facebook advertising is best for building mailing lists with giveaways, contests, etc. You then market to the Email addresses you collect.

    • Do you think Fb Ads are a bad idea for Aliexpress Dropshipping as well? I ask because many gurus out there recommend that. And also instagram shoutouts.

    I think traditional Facebook ads are a bad idea for almost any form of eCommerce. They may be great for building lists that you then market to but they almost never lead to direct sales. As I said, we only use Facebook to re-market to people who have already been to our website and expressed interest in our products. Running any other kind of ad to a product page is a waste of money when your audience really showed up to look at pictures of kittens and tell their friends what they had for dinner. They don't go to social notworks looking to buy things; they use search engines for that (which is where Google Shopping and Bing Shopping come in).

      I agree and disagree. FB ads work for viral offers. If you have something that can be shared then put it in. However if youre advertising shops, don't bother, theyre not in a buying mood when on FB.

      Even though I had awesome results with Facebook I agree, in our businesses we had exceptional results with Influencer Marketing, Affiliate Marketing and PPC (AdWords) rather than Facebook.

      @OP:

      Take a look at my video about this exact topic, a ton of people found this helpful and accurate for their own business, I recommend to have at least $500 to play with
