Physical products on Amazon, some questions

Hi,
Me & my wife are producing some high quality organic, natural products in Ecuador.

Wanna start selling on Amazon.

I'm European so I don't have a good idea of what is required to sell a product on the US market.
Can someone give me a little push in the right direction when it comes to requirements of labeling our products for the US market? Where can I learn more on how I'm required to design the product label to be allowed to sell in the United States?

If you're in Ecuador, start with the US trade representative at your in-country embassy or consulate office. Should be a treasure trove of resources.

Another thing to try is googling '[product name or category] USA labelling requirements'. Look for official (.gov) sites and/or trade groups, and reach out to them if their sites don't have the info you need.

Last, but not least, reach out to Amazon for suggestions they might have for any requirements you need to meet before being listed on Amazon.

That should get you started, anyway. Good luck to you...

    Amazon.

That's where you start your investigation. There are quite a number of 'musts' if you're going to try to sell food on amazon.com. It's also a gated category, so you need to get approval in the first place from them.

Go into your amazon seller account and then to help then type in food, then grocery and spend the next 2 days reading everything that you need to comply with.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but there's quite a lot you'll have to do before you even list your food product.

Having said that, amazon is an excellent ecommerce platform, the very best, and i've managed to use to start a very big ecommerce company. So, don't get downhearted when you see amazon's requirements, just power through them.

Good luck with your organic venture.

Amazon tells you what products are selling. If your product is unique, you need to study the Amazon sales rank for similar products. The Amazon sales rank will tell you how often a product sells for that category. Once you have the rank, find out how many sales a month a product gets in that category.

You need to validate if your products will sell before you invest time/money into this business. With Amazon, all the info is there. You just need to find it.

I have multiple clients who selling on Amazon from other countries. Amazon take you through the process, but I would highly recommend ensure that you meet your country regulation as far as export as well.

I think you should contact Amazon support to get exact answer. You can Google Amazon FBA to get some idea.

Check out the bestseller list on the most popular eCommerce websites of your country.

Check the industry reports by your government or worldwide.

Check out the most important blogs in your niche and see what kind of products they are selling.

That should be a good start.

As mentioned above Amazon can tell you everything about getting your business set up with them. They want you to be selling on their site so they will help you.

Also I would suggest starting small, putting just a small portion of you inventory into their warehouses to see how well it sells. Your sales will probably be slow at first and build up over time. Using Amazon's sponsored ads may help at first.
