Should I create a new ecommerce store?

Hi,

We have an ecommerce website that sells pottery products.

Since our website is kinda old and it does not have https and its theme is not very good, and it has good traffic, we don't wanna take the risk of changing the theme or adding https to it. I know it can be done but we don't wanna take the risk!

I was just wondering is it a good idea to make a new website? I mean we're not gonna use the same content in the new one and the new one will be in another language too.

Some people say it's a good idea but others say that both websites will compete with each other in google or something! This is kinda true but we are not gonna post in the old one anymore.

So now I really don't know what to do!
Advice pls!

If the new website is selling the same products but written in another language, it's probably best to put it on a subdomain of the main website:

    Main website: mycoolstuff.com
    subdomain: spanish.mycoolstuff.com
    Signature
BizSellers.com - The #1 place to buy & sell websites!
We help sellers get the MAXIMUM amount for their websites and all buyers know that these sites are 100% vetted.

I DID read your question (again) and my answer is essentially the same.

Since you say this "new website" is going to have different content and be in a different language it needs to be on a different domain or at least a subdomain. Since Google treats subdomains as different websites, you can either put it on a subdomain or on a whole new website. There is no ranking advantage for one over the other.

The two websites WILL NOT compete with one another because they will be in different languages.

If it has a good traffic, you do not need to build a new one. Tweaking its theme and adding https can be achieved successfully through working with a website developer. If you want to add a new language for the content, there is no need to write another content. There are tools available like google translate and better that will make your website multilingual in an instant.

Google problems you mentioned probably means SEO. If you have 1 site, you can focus all your efforts in their to outrank your competitors.
