Hello,

I know, i'm newbei in Warrior, only i can say i found this website late :p Actually i have few ideas about dropship business but the thing is i don't know business. For me, I am experienced in these matters;
- Creating and desiging any website,
- SEO,
- Article Writing,

But I need to know (information on web toooo wide and puzzling);
- Find a trustable wholesaler?
- What kind of product?
- Only ebay?

I know many topics could open, if you say just go search it newbie!, i can understand. I'm not asking your stratigies, just small hints.

Thanks,
Erkin

    - What kind of product? (use their research tools, to see just how competitive the

    - Only ebay? (Ebay is saturated with, every possible dropship product you can think of. The

      I second that.
Ebay is beyond saturated the competition is cut-thraot and the fees are only going higher. Forget about being the next Big Tech Dealer: eg: right now there are 45,378 digital cameras for sale on ebay, and only about 35% will actually be sold.

I joined WWB a few years ago and they are the best for finding product wholesalers, liquidation sites and drop-shippers.
The hard part is to find a product that you can sell at a profit, your best bet is to buy in bulk (liquidation) which means you would get better prices more room for net profit.

Almost every niche has been tapped out, so you will have to do some serious research to find viable products for resale.

You are quite welcome, I have years of experience in dropshipping, ebay and ecommerce stuff.
I can tell you about a gem I found a few years ago. it was a popular music cd called "NOW THATS MUSIC) and it was selling on late night infomercials for $21 + $6.95 s/h.

I found a source and they sold me 400 of their stock for $4 per CD. I took those and sold them on ebay for $12 plus $1 s/h. I cleared my inventory in less than 2 weeks. I have had quite a few deals like that, just gotta look and find a good wholesaler/dropshipper and anything is possible.

Don't you think this type of deal requires to have your own facility for an Inventory and staff to do all the job work?

And if you don't want that all, you need a dropshipper. But then you won't be able to get products at this cheap rate, and also you'd certainly find people selling those same products at highly competitive rates. So the profit margin would be quite less. It'll be hard to survive than to grow your business when you're just starting out.

How would one get real benefit from a dropship products? I certainly agree eBay is saturated. But that's the place most people visit and compare prices before purchasing. So, suppose even if I have a different store website, people would certainly go compare my price with that listed in eBay.

Is there an initial strategy to start and survive with dropship products having your own store?

I was looking, at both wholesalers and dropshippers at the same time. Found a business that was doing both and they recommended their hottest product ( NOW THAT'S MUSIC) and I jumped on the deal right away.

All Inventory was placed in my garage and I was the only person, doing the work and it was easy to do. Ebay is extremely saturated, it has been like that for years, but now the fees are very high and it is not worth selling on there (IMO).

Finding a good niche and a true wholesaler or getting in touch, with the manufacturer is what I would do. Dropshipping can be a real headache (finding the product, profiting from the product, making sure that you can, fulfill every order that comes in).

If one does find a good product. they can always test the market on ebay and setting up a nice seo optimized website, with a shopping cart can also be very beneficial.

The key is to just test things out and look for sources that sell stuff, that is not sold by tons of people, it is hard but anything is possible.

I still haven't find a real reputate company that offer dropship. I only tried once. I think that doing this kind of business require lots of work. I gave up on this method last year. However, i did profit from it though. I made my first money online doing this Honestly, i made a few thousands in profit. As a reminder, i almost forgot that i did make money online

I think if you have dedication and willing to work, you will succeed with this method. Just do it right and the reward will be well worth it. I have found a different method which require less work for me.

    To your success,

I started in IM with a Yahoo store and used WWB to find my wholesalers as well. That was back in 2004. I was in the sporting goods niche, chosen because the products required a minimum of tech support. In addition, they would not generate excessive returns as would consumer electronic products, yet would have fairly high sales prices. This was before ebay really hit its stride, yet margins of 15% were barely attainable. I still managed to sell a reasonable amount of product, given the fact that I knew next to nothing about SEO, and barely more than that about PPC. All I knew about PPC I learned from Perry Marshall's book and the school of hard knocks.

I had everything drop shipped from one of two distributors, had my own merchant account, and everything ran fairly smoothly.

    What I discovered:

    1) For a store such as I had, if you are going to generate the bulk of your traffic with PPC, make sure you have the budget to spare and cover yourself until you get the program profitable. Remember that you'll have to pay your payment processor, your hosting account, and in my case, the Yahoo store.

    2) Do market and KW research to discover what sells, and what exact phrases people are searching for, so you know what to target, what products to offer, and how to write your content. In retrospect, it is quite amazing I managed to do as well as I did, given that I did no KW research outside of finding out what people were generally searching for. I did not measure that against the competition, and knew nothing about targeting long tail phrases.

    3) Build a list. I had a customer list, but no list of people that visited, but did not become customers, so that I could market to them later. Obviously, that was a huge mistake.

    4) Build a great relationship with and market to your list. My list was a resource I really squandered, much to my chagrin now.

    5) In addition to selling dropshipped products, sell affiliate products on your site to increase monetization.

    6) Develop and sell your own information products to your customers. This was where I really failed to see the big picture. I was in sporting goods, a broad niche that eats up info products. I could have made a small fortune selling info products such as survival guides, fly fishing info (a great niche unto itself), hunting and firearms info, bass fishing , trout fishing guides, and so on. In a few years I could have made Kevin Reilly proud.

So, if you are going to start selling dropshipped products, you can do pretty well, just don't make the same mistakes I did.

I had a look at the dropship market a year or two ago and for a newbie to it I'd recommend that you find a specific small niche where you don't compete on price and set up an e-commerce site (there are a number of free open source ones out there) to get to learn the ins and out of a dropship business. Find suppliers in the niche that you are in, contact them and set up a dropship arrangement. Many businesses don't know the term dropshipping but are always keen on a sales opportunity where they don't have risk.

But dropshipping can be a mine field it you don't learn the ropes (except if you want to compete with gazillions on eBay and not make money)

    Hi,

What's worked here is to package info products on CDs and sell those via eBay. It can be tricky setting up S&H for them, determining rates, delivery times, etc. But if you focus on the USA & Canada for starters, and not worry about shipping to the entire planet, for example, with USA English products, that helps.

    What you can do:

    1) Either create your own unique info products and / or...

    2) Package some that you have rights to into something unique so there is virtually no competition.

    3) Include a line in the Description about asking you for rates if you are in another country, if that's what you'd like to do.

    4) ALWAYS check eBay rules and regs before publishing your listings. ALWAYS. Even if it looks like the top stores on eBay are publishing awesome Descriptions that you'd like to use in your info - do NOT do it. STOP. Seriously, make sure what you publish in your Descriptions adheres to eBay's rules and regs. Nothing will get you shut down faster than posting against their rules, and MANY people do this and are banned for months. Saying that so-and-so had this in their Descriptions carries no weight. Their listings will more than likely be pulled and the eBay member banned, too, once eBay gets to them.

    5) Do set up shop elsewhere, since you have effort, time, money and other resources in this project - plus the fact that eBay can and does shut sellers down at any time, and with no notice, for a variety of reasons that they deem appropriate. Several ecommerce sites out there actually interact (think that's the word I'm looking for) with eBay so you can set up shop in one place with an off-eBay store, plus have eBay listings and even an eBay store. Check out:

    - Prostores
    - GoDaddy / Wild West Quick Carts

    Alert:

you will more than likely have some degree of theft on eBay, people saying they didn't receive your CDs when shipping tracking info says otherwise. So adjust your plan accordingly to allow room for a percentage of loss, and don't haggle with potential shysters there (including those who try to hold you hostage and / or blackmail you for feedback), an easy way to get negative feedback or otherwise get stressed. Simply report these "buyers" to eBay, keep your sense of humor with all communications, and keep moving ahead
