Once most people have gone through the work of finding good dropshippers, they aren't usually very keen to share the information.

Finding decent dropshippers is not that simple.....lots of research and trial and error.

    Good luck.

I would suggest you to buy Salehoo membership on Clickbank. It cost around $68 per year if i'm not mistaken. The companies listed there has been reviewed by Salehoo team and some of it have been comment by Salehoo members that has experienced in using those companies. Salehoo is good to prevent being scam from fake dropshippers.

Contact wholesalers and ask them if they have a dropshipping program.

Study your niche, find wholesalers, and ask them if they dropship. If you know your niche, then you should have a pretty good idea of what sells. It's not the easiest solution, but it's the most fruitful. I just set up a site for my brother in a niche he's passionate about and he already made his first sale. Good luck!

heh. You have to search by yourself. When I mean search I mean no 'dropshippers in UK, US' google search. I meant find a big shop - call them and ask about dropshipping opportunities. If you want succeed, think outside the box. Dropshipping is good way to make a bit of money, but it also requires a lot of commitment n time.

    Good luck!

I had good success with Worldwide Brands also Doba and Salehoo are good for beginners. But again these are services and tools to save you time and to give you a good start. I suggest doing some more research about them and educate yourself about this business. Also check out my reviews just to give yourself a heads up about this services.

Can you elaborate on your experience with Worldwide Brands? I've been on the edge of pulling the trigger, but haven't done so yet. Is their list as good as they say it is?

      Thanks in advance!

I personally deal with a lot of brand name electronic accessories and I make great profits on them but I am not sure exactly what industry you are in and as far as I know it everyone there likes there electronic accessibility for a good price. But I can't suggest you to join them if I don't know what you are looking for.

I have a lot of experience in the automotive industry (it is how I got started and it is where I have had the most success). Do they offer much in that area?

I am open to almost any niche though because I enjoy creating sites and selling items online. I get a rush every time I sell something. Plus I have quite a bit of Ebay experience and I'm starting to get into Amazon so I could set up distribution channels right away.

I just don't want to waist $3-400 on a list that is a piece of crap.

Thanks again for the input. Any additional would be greatly appreciated!

Just a thought while reading this thread - Amazon have 'third-party' merchants that ship anywhere - maybe go to a niche, look up some of the third-party merchants and contact them if they will dropship your orders.

I am a member of Worldwide Brands and I have found that they have a great selection of dropshippers. I had a good experience with the dropshipping companies I found from Worldwide Brands - customers received their orders on time, good customer service, user friendly web pages.

      The downsides I found were:

1.) You are paying $300 up front - you do not know if the products you are trying to sell are necessarily carried by any of the dropshippers listed by Worldwide Brands. For instance, I initially joined Worldwide Brands to list products related to golf. Unfortunately, there were not any dropshippers that carried name brand golf products.

2.) I found a few dropshippers that I was interested in using. I tried selling their products on Ebay, but the market was over-saturated with others trying to sell those same products on Ebay. I made a few sales, but just managed to break even with all of the paypall fees and Ebay listing fees. Since so many people use Worldwide Brands, I imagine you will see this problem with most other dropshippers on the site as well.

Overall, if you have the money to spend, it's definitely worth taking a look at their dropshippers. I'm sure with the right SEO/website promotion techniques, you could manage to make money from the suppliers listed from this site.

Those are both good points. I didn't think about how widespread it's use might be and the saturation of the products being sold.

That was my experience from the site, so don't let that deter you. I imagine it would be hard to make money from WWB if you are only trying to sell on Ebay. But I definitely see potential if you are looking to sell products on an authority or niche site that has a decent amount of traffic - just can't guarantee that quality products relating to your niche are necessarily going to be carried by their suppliers.

Yeah ... I'm not interested in Ebay. Been there, done that and it was a horrible experience. I want to do one or more niche sites.

Yes, I did. I found enough very good dropshippers/wholesale companies in my niches to make it worthwhile. If one keyword doesn't turn up a company, try another. Not sorry I joined.

I'm a lifetime world wide brands member I am not sure what you are interested in selling but don't expect to find many branded products if any at all. If you do, they will be at a price higher than what you can buy them on ebay for. For sure no ipad supplier. If you find a canon digital camera supplier, it will be cheaper to buy on ebay.

What you can find is a good supplier is a good supplier for swords, blood pressure monitors, model airplanes. If something like that is your niche or you have a niche with no major brands, you'll find suppliers but making money is a different story because chances are everyone else selling the same product will have the same price.

I can tell you more if you have specific questions!

    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[7613222].message }}
  • Finding products at 'wholesale prices' isn't the end of it, though.

Because if I can buy UNDER wholesale, then I will.

In addition, any supplier can come out and say: "Hey! Lookie here, these are 'wholesale prices"!

That's why whenever a supplier gives me a pricelist, I take it with a grain of salt.

I take their products, then go product-by-product and do my own market analysis and find the market worth - less deductions and then go to the supplier and then TELL them what I WILL pay for the item to be competitive.

If they don't like it, I'm not too offended. Because I know what price I can sell a LOT of their products for, and what margin I need to make to be competitive.

If the supplier cannot accept that price, then I move onto someone else -- and I let everyone else take losses on those items and have very low turnover.

Suppliers don't set prices. Markets do.

And based on that data, I pitch a cost to acquire to the supplier for a VERY specific cost to acquire per item.

Sure it's a lot of work - but nothing on the Internet is a push-button system....

WWB is WorldWide Brands. WWB can help you find some great sourcing connections - but they will not contact suppliers on your behalf, nor will they sell anything on your behalf. They tell you (up front) that they only provide information (not guarantees) and that the work and the results are totally up to you.

Many people that are either misinformed (or just lazy) lament the fact that WorldWide Brands does not do all of the work and does not promise any measure of success. (And to all of those lazy not-trepreneurs, I'm sure Don Lapre is still willing to show you how to make a fortune from one little classified ad...) Some of you are scratching your head and some of you are laughing because you're just as old as me!

Finally, WorldWide Brands is something that is often feared and misunderstood by those who have never used WWB services. Some people (including myself) have found great success from using WWB services the way they were intended to be used. Some people have tried it and honestly did not find any value in it. And, of course, some people have no clue what happens at WWB - yet they will speak the worst they can imagine about it (usually in the hopes that the curious will simply abandon course and quickly click the link located somewhere in the repliers forum signature.)

Personally, I'd advise you to never heed the opinion of anyone who hasn't used the service (especially if the contrast they offer is their own stellar service or expertise for sale, etc.) You can find some pretty good reviews of both the pros and the cons of WWB right here in this forum if you use the search function to find them.

You are perpetuating the myth that to buy direct from manufacturers in China you must place huge orders.

I teach how to get real manufacturers to supply small orders, way, way below the big MOQs that you see quoted, and they will supply at genuine ex factory prices.

It is almost impossible to achieve this if you deal with the suppliers masquerading as manufacturers on the popular sourcing sites. The vast majority of them are traders and while their prices may look good, they are nowhere near as low as you can get from the real manufacturer.

That is why I only recommend a couple of safe sourcing sites where you can be sure that suppliers listed as manufacturers really are.

When operating my importing business before retirement I dealt with a wide variety of industries, mainly because satisfied customers were constantly asking "Can you also supply product XXXXX?" If the volume warranted it, I and my franchisees would source the supplies from a manufacturer.

Now that I am teaching people safe sourcing and easy importing, the range of industries that my students are buying from is mind boggling.

They don't all tell me what they are importing, but from the large number that do tell me I can say that it is clear that if an entrepreneur can think of a profitable product to import and sell, they can find that product by using my methods.

One thing I don't teach is how to find dropship companies, because I want my students to make real money.
