Who is supplying bags as your prices are higher than Amazon?Nice idea though if you can add more and your getting a good price for them.

I'm getting it supplied from China suppliers. Anybody have any good sources for me?

By the looks of it you are actually getting stock 'through' a trading company and not from a manufacturer, in China, if your prices are too high as posted above.

I'd look at your competition and pricing/sourcing structure first, even before bothering about web design.

        All the best.

Do you know of any better sources which I can get my stock from? I use dhgate.com to source for suppliers.

Three product is all you have? I hope visitors won't be disappointed because its all you can offer. How about giving your consumer more choice such as Facebook, Youtube, etc. The customer might recommend it to their friends if you have more type of product.

Firstly, DHGate are basically a collection of trading companies/suppliers/middlemen, not many manufacturers. Some are ok to deal with, over here though (Taiwan) they don't trade with DHGate, they find each other online.

It's ok to be higher in price if you deliver better customer service. Just not too great a margin...

You may even find a wholesaler in the USA. Check where you are first and compare pricing with overseas buys, cost factoring everything such as shipping, customs duties etc.

It also really depends how serious you are about it, if you want to do quantity.

To do quantity, I'd keep searching or pay someone to find you some suppliers. Trading Companies/Agents will always hide their suppliers (manufacturers)...

Some traders have reasonable prices for avoiding headaches involved such as:
            Avoiding Risk
            1. Their business name in English has to be registered in addition to their Chinese business name. (And this I can state as fact, living in Taiwan...)
            2. They should have a land line and fax number. Mobile/Cell numbers only are higher risk for obvious reasons.
            3. Samples may be offered but they may botch your following larger orders without a Quality Inspection.
            4. Brand Name products will only bring you trouble.
            5. Domain Names of sites should be a few years old, if not you are definitely dealing with a Trade Co. or at worst, a scammer.

There are many sites that are FOEs or Foreign Owned Enterprises, that offer legit and useful services. They are pricey but get you results.

Other than that you could fly over to have a look at the Canton Fair and meet manufacturers face to face. Going over there requires capital and, manufacturers don't usually deal with an MOQ (min. order quantity) of less than 1,000 units...If you want to REALLY compete.

Failing all above, contact me, I discovered I can't pm back so just p.m. me an email. Tell me what you'd like, what you can afford, and I'll see what I can do for you. Yes, I'd be acting as your agent, not greedy though. I must warn you however, as close as I am currently to China, this area of business is really just starting for me.

All of the above I have found through hard earned experience, so far.

            All the best.

I'd like to start small, so going large-scale is not what I'm looking for currently. It's good to know that you're from Taiwan, but I think getting relevant contacts from China would be easy enough for me as I can communicate in Mandarin. I'm Chinese by race too, born in Singapore. So I guess that's a slight advantage for me. As a matter of fact, I'm going to Taiwan in 3 weeks for training I really appreciate your tips, I'd take that into account when choosing my suppliers!

Congrats on getting something built, but I would never buy from site that looked like that. It's amateur hour. I don't even know who you are, you don't provide any business info. Like, ya' know, an address and phone number. I'm being blunt, but it's crazy to spend money on traffic until you fix up the site.

The site looks Ok, but you have to put more details regarding the owner of the website. People would like to see an address and a phone number for the shop they're buying from.

Just had a look - I agree with the others with regards to ownership and trust.

When I click on the contact tab a phantom bag is added to the cart without clicking on the 'add to cart'. When I go to checkout, I get a 404 page notice - the car was empty. I added something to see what would happen. The page worked fine then.

Good luck and well done so far.

Honestly, you need to start over... I can show you how to redo everything within an hour or so and make a site that people would actually buy from (it's not hard, you just need know where to go and be pointed in the right direction) but before that you need to figure out pricing and if it's even worth getting into that market.

I found every bag on your website at other retailers for much less (over 50% less) by doing a simple search. I don't know anyone who buys online without at least doing a quick price comparison from at least one other retailer. You can have the nicest looking site on the internet but if your pricing doesn't compete you will get nowhere.

Contact your supplier, see if you can get better pricing and be able to make a healthy profit while competing with other retailers. If you can I'd be glad to help you.

Thanks, are you willing to help? I'm not sure if you're asking for fees, but if you are, I'm willing, though I do have a really limited budget. I'm keen to learn from someone experienced.

That's absolutely fantastic! I'd be looking forward to having you as a mentor. I doubt I'd be free on Monday though, I have full-time commitments, and I'm doing this site for part-time. I'm serving as a soldier in conscription, so I have to take things slower due to the lack of time. :s

I would really consider getting a better shopping cart. I would go with something like 3d cart or network solutions, they will cost around $50.00 per month but would look so much better than the WP cart.

If you use one of those solutions (there are others but those are the ones I have used and like) you can add content, headers, footers, with ease. Adding products and product options take about 2 minutes. And with those shopping carts there is no reason to pay anyone to build your site.

I would add content about you, your products, etc.

    Hey,
I think your site looks pretty good. I would definitely get rid of "Powered by WordPress. Designed by Woo Themes." If you are an affiliate of Woo Themes, you will never get a commission from that link. Plus it makes your site look a little amateur with Powered by... on it. If woo-themes doesn't have an opportunity to opt out as an affiliate, (most themes do), then you can go to editor, find it, and insert what you like in that area, or just delete it completely. I like to use it with a link to

Thank you so much for all your responses. Truth be told, it's really only done in a day. I'm no expert, but I've been stuck as a newbie for so long, I get excited when I finally churn something out. I wonder if you all get what I mean hahaha. There's like so many ideas on the internet, and it's hard to focus. So I'm hoping this can become my focus, I would want to get this kickstarted before finally moving to other avenues. I'm still young and learning, I'm only 19 this year, so there's not much that I would know of, frankly.

First of all, I have to say the site is poorly optimized, I would recommend you to figure out what you want to accomplish with the site first. If you want make sales, you need first do the followings:

    1. If it is ecommerce, add paypal secure logo, visa secure logo, any ssl logo to built trust with the site if it is e commerce.
    2. Add chat, phone # again add trust, remember if you are a visitor and visit that site, would you pay for it with everything the way they are now?
    3. Optimize the site with proper header title and meta description, figure out the top keywords you want to promote.
    4. Start building quality backlinks on the sets of keywords you have in mind focus on the ones from the title first, and get slow ranked in google and start building your organic traffic.

You have a long way to go, hope this helps.
