Product Descriptions - List the specs of the product, or hype it up with some compelling copy?

On a site that sells non-informational products, things like car parts, clothes, or toys, how would you write product descriptions?

You could go with specs:
Blue toy car, made of metal, 12 inches x 4 inches x 3 inches

Or do you really hype it up and list the benefits of having the car, how much fun it will bring you, why everyone needs a toy car like this one, and how it's a good value, but only for a limited of time?

Typically people buy on emtions ...not logic. Do a short product desc. with benenfits rather than just features.

I would hit on both points. If you don't have the specs you'll end up having to answer a bunch of unnecessary emails.

This is dead on because the more information you put on the site the less your inbox will be full...

I also put a very detailed FAQ and cut my emails down at least half...

In my opinion anyone that is a buyer wants the specs in the information. To many buyers this is critical.
