Need Some Advice! Flip or Keep?

ECOMMERCE

Hi everybody. I've built an e-commerce website over the last year and had some decent sales. However, because of the economy and the time commitment, I was considering selling it. What would you change or add if you were going to sell it. Any advice would be appreciate. The site is fashionable flash drives dot com

  I like your site, if the site is making money why sell it ? It is nice to have more than one stream of income.
  
  If you can make the site pay for the hosting and domain, it is not costing you anything. If you have time to make it bigger than scale it up.
  
  If you do not have the time to constantly update it, place it on hold for the time being. Later down the road you may want to come back to it.

This is great advice DWolfe. I never considered placing it on hold for a while. I am considering selling it because I thought maybe someone else could take it to another level. Thank you for your input as well!

Coud you elaborate on that Weaving Thoughts? Are you saying that it's better to keep the site and slowing have the income come in (rather than getting a lump sum now)?

Have the sales declined or held steady? Sites with income can sell for anywhere from 6-12 months income and sometimes more. I like the site, but the one thing I would do is use variable products on the front page. There's too many ice cream cones and M&Ms. Using a variable product, there would be one with the buyer being able to choose which options they want for products that are the same except for size (i.e., 4GB, 8GB, etc.)

I think weaving thoughts is saying that you should sell it for the amount you would get if you kept it for about 3 months. I like your website great products. However, I would change the products so that instead of seeing 4 or more of the same product, I would put the size of the memory in the options fwiw. I might interested in buying your site. I would be interested in learning more about it. However, I cannot PM so send me if you are interested.

  ckent205 and sbucciarel, I had it that way at first, but my customers were not paying attention to the size of the memory when putting the product in the shopping cart. They were always purchasing the default size. So, I went back to the way it is now. Thanks for the suggestion!

I have sold a lot of the stuff in your website before. It did not have a high margin and we often had to deal with defects and returns. Not only, some of the items you carry are highly susceptible to credit card fraud.

I honestly don't know what to recommend. If you expand it, you may well have to get hired help and that could be quite expensive in the US.

Depending on the site you use to sell and the actual monthly revenue, you can often get more than three months revenue. That's kind of on the low side.
