Is this market viable for an ecommerce store [Screenshots inside]

Hi guys,

I'm considering starting an ecommerce store in the energy sector for a high priced item (i.e., USD200-USD1000 ) and have used market samurai to do some research on the current competition.

For the niche that I've chosen, I believe the second image that is "market 2.jpg" seems much more difficult to rank in the top 3 on Google for.

I haven't started my store in this niche yet, but I'm interested in hearing about your experienced insights into whether or not I should consider these 2 markets given their competitiveness as shown on the market samurai screenshots. I believe that market 1 is more feasible to reach top 3 within Google than market 2.

How long do you think it will take you to rank in the top 3 for both of these markets given the data you see in the screenshots?

Are they too competitive? Should I not consider them and move on?

I think the problem is 2-things... 1. Your thumbnails aren't opening up easily, I had to right click and then open in new widonw. 2. Lots of people probably aren't familiar with market samurai.
To me it looks like the competition has hardly any backlinks in option 1, so suposedly, it would be a low competition keyword to rank.

I'd forget about trying to engineer your site to make revenue from organic search. SEO is just too flakey and unpredictable to make it your business model. At that price point you can probably afford some PPC advertising, which will tell you a lot more than MS can about the potential of your product. .

Yes, I agree with PPC being the much faster alternative and it's something I'm seriously considering.

At this stage the competition is high for this keyword making PPC quite costly. In that case, I suppose Bing would be the cheaper alternative to Google Adwords to advertise my product.

      1) Sorry about that. Is there any way to make them more easier to open?

      2) Great feedback with the 1st market. So is the 2nd market too competitive?

      Thanks in advance!

I hope not, because the niche I'm about to go after has some similar stats.
