How To Spot Bad eBay Advice From A Mile Away!
But I have recently read a couple of WSO's and eBooks from Guru's(in-training, in my opinion) on how to sell on eBay.
I'm not going to mention them by name, but instead, I'm going to give YOU guys a guide/tips on HOW to spot a good eBay offer/WSO for eBay.
1. One thing you want to look for is NOT 'conditional demonstrations', such as 'this is what I WOULD' do and then go video after video on how they do things.
- The reason for this is because there is a BETTER technique on how to do things, and it isn't based on personal opinion or favor. The best way to do things is based on data! When you are on eBay there are a LOT of people that don't know what they are doing.. You need to know how to weed through those 'bad' listing and how to spot the 'smartest' kids in class!
2. Don't gravitate look towards people who are exclusively trying to teach dropship methods.
-Although this is a very attractive model, and I've been teaching this too for years, you need to understand some history here. Back in the early 2000's, dropshippers were hiring everyone under the sun. And because of this, the market was being saturated with their items. Also, because of this, retailers were demanding that dropshippers LOWER the price of their items until dropshippers could no longer carry that item. Over and over again dropshippers were going out of business until they started CHARGING MEMBERSHIP FEES!!!! (Which was stupid and unpopular)
Now, what you see is suppliers inflating prices for their products AT THE SAME PRICE THEY ARE SELLING ON EBAY! Suppliers are doing this ON PURPOSE! So that they DON'T JUST SIGN UP ANYONE! (Remember - they did that before, and they wen't out of business) You need to establish a selling history first - with other, easier, means (which my 1000 dollar a week eBook teaches on my website) When you do THAT- THEN you have leverage for negotiation... otherwise, you canNOT dropship...
I've dropshipped on eBay for years, and so I know.
3. Don't focus on the person who will show you 'specific products' to sell.
-This one really bothers me... Because let's think logically here. What would happen if you released an announcement to say, 1000 people that said: "Sell this product! It is profitable!" All of the sudden, you'd have 1000 people 'selling' it, but no one would 'sell' it! The market would saturate! It makes no sense. There are ways of finding PROFITABLE products, and using your competition and UNDERCUTTING them based on simple, principled rules (that I've been teaching and implementing for years) Not by telling people what SPECIFICALLY to sell - but by showing them HOW TO FIND items to sell.
4. Also - never trust anyone who tells you what they sell.
Here's the best business advice I'll ever give you: Once you tell people what you sell, keep it a secret. Otherwise, you'll find yourself surrounded with unwanted competition.
Here's the reality, folks. I've read a lot of eBooks on people who have been 'selling on eBay profitably' for a long time.
That's great and all, but here's the issue: you can sell on eBay profitably for a long time and still suck royally at it.
I've been teaching people how to not only sell on eBay PROFITABLY, but to also RANK higher in the search results, and have FASTER turnover. That's what's most important.
Sell higher, sell faster, sell more, sell better. All are your option. Undercut your competition. And DESTROY them.
So there you have it folks. Just thought you outta be prepared.
