Hello All

Been doing a bunch of reading here for a while now and I thought I would share some advice

If you are not using email to your advantage you are loosing out

I manage multiple ecommerce sites for a wide range of clients. Many of them were using their email lists poorly or not at all.

Once iam able to talk a client into a new traffic source like this it does not take long for them to see a huge return on their investment which normally is low xxx

What does email marketing work so well?
  • They know you already from a previous buy or newsletter sign up
  • The cost to engage is very low
  • You can match a specific offer with the exact lp
  • Very detailed tracking
Some tips
  • Keep a regular time table of email sends. Don't skip long periods of time
  • Make sure to let them out of the email with unsubscribes
  • Include your address and phone on the email to gain trust
  • TRACK EVERYTHING - via analytics and your service provider
  • Do not send emails from your server
  • Test many different headlines
  • Include the use of symbols |!*+%
  • Make them feel like the found a secret deal. Shhhh private sale
  • Test your send times, normally the lunch hour works best
  • Test days of the week. Why a Monday morning email box clearing would not be as good as a lunch break on a Wednesday
  • Keep a consistent look and feel to the overall email to get your customers used to your message. (Think groupon)
  • Use custom templates not a common one that has been used by tons of companies
  • Make note of holidays, and time of the year (Winter weekend sends are better than Summer weekend sends)

    time of day is a huge factor!

    + dont forget that subject line. By testing a few of these things I have been able to get my clients a 3% CR and better on their email sends =)
