How to drive traffic to new ecommerce site?no seo

Hi guys,

My new site is almost there ready to launch. You may not care much...
but, I'm so serious about it. I built and designed it myself. I even quitted my job for it.
As I don't want to waste my time anymore. well, not everyone cares...

My problem is :
I want to drive some targeted paid traffic to it.
I know a bit SEO. It won't help me much for a while. I will apply it to my site for sure.
Please suggest me some advertising networks? ppc ? or whatever you know that is effective to a men's apparel shopping site?

I am on a budget with no experience on paid traffic before. Anything that is easier to manage and relatively cheaper?

Also, with limited resouces, should I focus on just 1 or 2 major advertising means or should I diversify as much as possible(for this instance I mean every online advertising channel)? I do feel not enough time to do all this.

Please give me some ideas!!
:confused::confused::confused:
Many thanks...

Google adwords, most reliable source of paid PPC traffic.

Yes, and you may also want to try Bing Ads. The conversions will be far fewer compared to Adwords but the CPLs will be also be comparatively lower.

Honestly, I have some friends told me off immediately when I mentioned about Adwords. hard to manage and burn money rather quickly. I have no experience on adwords. I kind of know how it works. I am on a budget, not sure if I should go with it....

Sometimes you have to spend a bit of money to make money. I would start researching adwords and learning as much about it as you can while using the other methods to start. If you can, like someone else mentioned- hire someone to do a campaign for you.

For sure, I will start researching on adwords. I personally prefer to do it myself first then outsource. I enjoy learning new things about IM.

If you have the money I would recommend paid traffic, if you are working on a budget use social media

It's best if you can use all three methods - paid, social and seo for long term success

Wow, you quit your job to start a business that you have no experience in?

    Good luck to you!

Facebook/Ebay/YouTube are probably your best bet for building your business in the fashion niche as efficiently and affordable as possible.

I won't say that I have no experience at all. I have built a few other sites but they are not typical ecommerce sites. and I only applied seo to those sites. I haven't tried paid traffic. just want to start selling quicker. Thanks for the suggestions. they are on my list.

In your position, I would pay for traffic in the short term, while also applying the free/cheaper methods medium and long term. Good luck!

USPS Every Door Direct Mail. Choose affluent residential areas, drop off a stack of postcards/fliers at your post office, and they put one in every mailbox on those drivers' routes.

using facebook, twitter, and google plus. You have to add more followers as you can. Don't buy the followers from somebody. Bought followers are fake.

Hi Giselle---I am doing actually the exact same thing as you, and I am in the same position as you. We are in just about the same place. Shoot me a message and perhaps we can chat a bit and keep each other on track. My niche is similar to yours. I quit my job too.

Depending on your budget I would go with either Google Adwords or Bing Adcenter.

Make sure you place a big focus on SEO long term though because that is going to provide sustained traffic and customers for years to come (if you do it right).

If you want anymore help feel free to PM me.

Bing Ads but it also depends on what kind of product you are selling...Statistics say that Yahoo has a more mature and less tech savy audience...

If you have a limited budget, you most certainly want to diversify. Don't spend all your pennies in one place. Test for results before investing any more. Be sure you have the site and all it's parts working before throwing money at ads. If you have problems with the sales process in any way (shipping, payment handling, support), you will blow it on those first customers who click and try to buy. As they say, have your ducks in a row first. THEN cross the street....with the light!

My suggestions would be to make use of social media (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pintrest, Instagram). They are probably the best way to drive free, targeted traffic.

You can also list some items on eBay, and encourage the viewers of your auctions to check out your website.

You should also post ads on Craigslist. It's free and tends to generate a lot of traffic. Just know that if you post multiple ads that are identical under the same account, your ads may get flagged and removed. So be sure to change up the wording on your ads.

    Best of luck!

If you want to go with paid marketing you have two option:

      1. Google Adwords/Bing AdCenter
      2. Go with Affiliate Marketing like vcommission and other

You also try free/paid product comparison search engines where you need to submit your product feed on these site.

For generate free traffic you can use below:

      1. Classified Website
      2. PR and Article Submission
      3. Blog Posting
      4. Social Networking (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest etc)

If you have valuable and unique content and you do a little marketing then you will easily get traffic and search engines (Google. bing ) will also show your site in top results for products (you have). You can request other sites to reference your site as it can be an effective way to drive a huge traffic.
