My husband owns an incorporation and already has a Tax ID and EIN and all that. I dont know if anyone here would know the answer to this but figured it was worth a shot... he can go back to the State to ask them to form a dba business as well. SO it would be his business dba and then my business. I am just wondering if I can use his EIN and Tax ID number if say he sets up a DBA business under Audarah's ventures or something like that. Since we are married, we file our taxes together anyway so any income I make would be reported under his.

Sorry if this seemed like a really dumb question. Are most of you that have ecommerce sites LLC companies or is there way to get a Federal EIN without forming a legal business entity that I am not aware of?

I could be wrong, but from what I understand, each business should have its own EIN (tax id). If it falls under incorporation, there is a way to include a second bus., but I don't know the details. Best to check with your state officials for this information.

thanks justray. We were doing some researching on that last night but my hubby and I just decided to open my own LLC. I don't want to mix and mingle my ecommerce stores with his incorporated forklift service, sales and repair corporation.
