Products, Shopping cart, theme selected: what next?

Hi Everyone,

As clear from the title of the thread, I've passed through some steps in setting my store up; products, shopping cart and theme. Now I would like to ask about payment options and security certificates. Paypal is not available in my country, so that's not an option. I am thinking of using either Skrill or 2Checkout. Skrill rates are much better than 2Checkout (and I already have a personal account with skrill) but it supports less payment options for US: only VISA and MasterCard, while 2Checkout on the other hand supports 8 payment options so it sounds better to me, what are your thoughts on this?

The other point I am interested in knowing is about SSL and/or other security certificates. I know SSL certificates are required for secure transfer of information over internet, by quick Google search I found people saying that if you are collecting user data on your site then you need SSL, but if all your user info is collected by your payment gateway, then you don't need SSL. So what you think about this? And what you recommend; collecting user data on my own server or send them to payment gateway to enter all data?

Also, there is big difference in prices for SSL certificates, some are around $8 and some other are around $20, do they have any difference security vise or all do exactly the same?

And finally, what else (any certification) I need to make my customers feel fully secure or if SSL is all what I need?

I would like experienced guys to please answer each question clearly(step by step) so that it may help other newbies as well.

Thanks

i don't find a difference between the cheap and expensive ones. Just make sure the one you are purchasing is well recognized by most common browsers!

OK, godaddy is offering the best rates($4.99 per year) so I will go with them. Is this the only certificate I require?

if you have just one site on a domain, then the single ssl is fine. If you are planning on having multiple subdomains, you will need a wildcard cert, which is a bit more. Just make sure you know what you need before buying and wasting money.
