Meeting U.S. dropship supplier's needs outside U.S?

Hi , I'm currently trying to get approved with a dropship supplier in the U.S. So I can start selling primarily to the U.S. market.(My company is based in Hong Kong.)

They ask for a Federal Tax ID#, Resale Certificate, DUNS#, SIC code.. none of which I have.

Do I need those requirements? And are they even applicable to me because I'm not located in the U.S?

I'm getting mixed answers from googling and reading forums, so far the answers I get are:

1.) I could just get an ITIN (Individual tax payer number) and can do business
2.) I should set up a company in U.S, then I can get a Tax ID # and EIN, then register for resale certificates. (more costly)
3.) Just research Business in Hong Kong & follow those laws, none of those things they ask for apply to me, since I'm not a U.S. retailer.

I want to get over this step as soon as possible so I can start making sales on my store... what should I do? Thanks

I also came across the same situation a few weeks ago and according to my research, point #2 is the solution for this which you already have figured out is really expensive. After browsing around for many weeks, I finally ended up in deciding to sell internationally from my home country(Pakistan).

As you said you wanna sell to US market so if you want to make your customers believe that you are a US company and operating from within US then the solution is the second point. But with that you would need to get a US based merchant account, and to get merchant account you need a US business checking account - which is now very very difficult to get for foreigners.
